💚 Introducing 💚
Because everyone deserves a safe place to come home to.
Today, we’re sharing the beginning of a project that is very close to our hearts.
Our client relocated to Texas and purchased a home, excited to begin a new chapter. Shortly after his move, he began renovations to make the house his own.
Then life changed.
He suffered a stroke and spent the following year in and out of hospitals and rehabilitation facilities. For nearly a year, he was unable to truly live in or care for his home.
While he was away receiving the care he needed, his home was left without anyone nearby to look after it. When he was finally able to return, he discovered that squatters had occupied the home and left behind significant damage and debris.
His belongings were still packed in boxes from his original move. Renovations had been left unfinished. His home had become overwhelming, unsafe, and nearly impossible to navigate.
And yet, he had made enough progress in his recovery to come home.
So we have to ask:
How can someone be expected to thrive in an unsafe environment?
How can someone recovering from a major medical event be expected to unpack, clean, organize, repair, and restore an entire home that has been left in chaos for nearly a year?
And more importantly…
Why should they have to do it alone?
Our client initially reached out to us simply asking for help shopping for necessities.
But at Faithful Journey Home Care, we believe that caring for someone means looking at the whole picture.
We believe seniors deserve the opportunity to age safely and with dignity in the home they call their own.
We believe that a safe home is part of healthcare.
We believe that recovery doesn’t stop when someone is discharged from the hospital.
We believe that sometimes the difference between someone being able to remain at home and someone being forced into another care setting is simply having the right support around them.
And we believe that community is one of the most powerful forms of support there is.
So instead of simply helping him shop, we decided to help him come home.
We are officially launching Project Journey Home — a short term community effort to help restore this home into a safe, functional, and comfortable place where our client can continue his recovery and live with dignity.
This project will take more than one person.
It will take community partners, donations, supplies, volunteers, skilled professionals, and people who are simply willing to say, “How can I help?”
And already, people have stepped forward.
We are incredibly grateful for the individuals and businesses who have donated their time, resources, supplies, and expertise to help make this possible. 💚
This isn’t about creating a picture-perfect home.
It’s about creating a safe home.
It’s about giving someone the ability to open their front door and feel like they are finally home again.
It’s about showing what can happen when we stop asking, “How did this happen?” and start asking, “What can we do to help?”
This is Project Journey Home.
And this is just the beginning. 🏡💚
Follow along as we document this transformation, highlight the incredible community partners joining us, and—most importantly—help one senior reclaim his home and his independence.
