"If you stretch every day but you're still tight, here's why.
I actually don't spend much time doing long static stretches, and there's a reason.
Most of my flexibility work comes from active mobility—building strength and control through the range of motion I want to keep.
Static stretching has its place. If your goal is something like the splits, it can be a great tool. But if your goal is to lift your leg overhead, squat deeper, or move better in everyday life, you also need to be strong in those positions.
I've found that training active mobility helps me maintain my flexibility longer because my body has the strength to use the range it gains.
It's the same approach I use with my clients. I've seen people go from barely reaching their knees to touching the floor in as little as one to three months—not because we only stretched, but because we improved how their bodies moved and controlled that range.
Don't just chase flexibility. Build strength in your flexibility."
