I get quite a few comments when we are full how we should open up another assisted living like Oasis. I hear, "we need more of these" almost every time I have to tell people we have no available rooms. I would love to say expanding is in our future, but unless we stay consistently full it just isn't. Yes, we do have a great reputation and provide quality care. Yes, we do need more small family owned and operated retirement options. However, we have been operating 9 years and we still have times where we go months with rooms open & available. With a small residential home that really hits us financially. COVID was rough and when people weren't wanting to place their loved ones in (state required) locked down facilities, our business "nest egg" suffered dramatically. So, until we get to a place where, when we do have open rooms they fill shortly after, we just can't justify expanding. I do love to hear how much everyone wants more of the care my amazing staff provide though. It makes what we do so meaningful. 🥰
