Effective equine therapy work begins with connection. Horses have a remarkable way of sensing the things people carry beneath the surface. They are inclined to respond not to what we say, but to how honestly we show up. Nashville Equine Therapy in Bon Aqua offers guided equine therapy, inviting clients to slow down, notice their emotions, and explore questions of identity, trust, confidence, boundaries, and belonging in a safe, experiential way.
Meet Gus.
Gus is the old-timer of the herd, and his story is one of loss, healing, and learning to trust again.
He joined the Nashville Equine Therapy herd after losing the owner he had known for most of his life. Not long after, he also lost his closest equine companion. Upon arrival, Gus was deeply depressed and unsure of connection.
He is still quiet & thoughtful, but that is what makes time with him so meaningful. Gus has a gift for sensing authenticity. He doesn’t want to see the mask you wear for the world. He responds to honesty.
For clients who are quiet, grieving, or anxious, Gus offers a steady kind of companionship. Gus’s gift is a reminder that healing should not be rushed and that connection is strongest when we respect the truth we carry within.
