It is with heavy hearts that we remember our founder, Dr. Remo Lotano, who passed away on June 26, 2026. His kindness, leadership, and unwavering dedication to caring for others laid the foundation for the practice we are so proud to be part of today.

We are deeply grateful for the legacy he leaves behind and will continue to honor his vision by providing the compassionate, patient-centered care he believed everyone deserved.

More than five decades ago, Dr. Lotano opened the first Piedmont Eye Center office in the Allied Arts Building in downtown Lynchburg, beginning a journey that would impact countless patients and families throughout our community.
