Carolyn Darlene Gann Sawyer of Lynchburg, Tennessee passed from this life on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at the age of 79 years.

A native of Wi******er, Tennessee she is the daughter of the late James and Mattie Lee Gann. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, Teddy Sawyer, one grandson, Nicholas Morton, siblings, Teresa Taylor, James Gann Jr., Ricci Gann, Teddy Gann, and Danny Gann.

The family has chosen cremation, and a celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Lynchburg Funeral Home in Lynchburg, Tennessee with Pastor A.J. Alderman and Pastor Drew Hayes officiating. Friends may visit and reminisce with the family on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery fund or The Nicholas Sawyer Morton " Lead with Kindness scholarship" in honor of her grandson at http://spot.fund/d6dwv1hss

Carolyn was a member of the Pleasant Hill Methodist Church and the Pleasant Hill Ladies. She worked for many years at DeLongs, Home Health, and as a Substitute Teacher.

Carolyn was a lifelong volunteer, including Contact Lifeline, Senior Citizens, The Library Board and the Eastern Star. Carolyn was a very kindhearted and generous person. and very devoted to her family and friends. She was full of life, spunky and a little mischievous.

Edith Estelle Bateman, age 98, of Lynchburg, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026.
She was born on March 21, 1928, in Dickson, Tennessee, to the late Leonard and Grace Langford Donegan. Edith was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and a cherished member of her family and community.
She was united in marriage to the late William Burt “Billy” Bateman, with whom she shared 69 loving years of marriage.
Edith retired from DeLong's Glove Factory and was a longtime and faithful member of Smith Chapel Methodist Church, where her faith was an important part of her life. She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with and cooking for her family. She will be remembered for her loving heart, strength, kindness, and devotion.
Her hobbies included canning, gardening, crocheting, working crossword puzzles, reading daily devotionals, and volunteering with her church. In her later years, she was an avid TV watcher and planned her days around watching the next old Western or game show.

In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Burt “Billy” Bateman; daughter, Connie Irene Bateman; brothers, Wilson, J.C., Leamon, and Terry Donegan; sisters, Ethelene Clark, Ruth Baker, and Mary Donegan; and granddaughter, Brooke Bateman.

Joyce Ogles Dunn of Fayetteville, Tennessee passed from this life on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at her daughter's residents in Fayetteville, Tennessee at the age of 82 years.

A native of Nashville, Tennessee, she is the daughter of the late Hollis Ogles and Elizabeth Rector Ogles.

Per her wishes, she will be cremated with a Memorial Service being planned for Friday, August 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church located at 1900 Huntsville Highway Fayetteville, Tennessee 37334.

Joyce was of the Catholic faith. She loved her family and had a very youthful spirit. She had a very generous heart for helping others and was spiritually strong in her belief.

She was preceded in death by her husband: John Wayne Dunn Sr., sister: Elaine Martin, brother in-law Geno Martin.

Her survivors include her sons: Micheal Dunn of Lady Lake, Florida, John Dunn (Kim) of Ocala, Florida, daughter: Lorie Maranda (Ray) of Fayetteville, Tennessee, sister: Carolyn Cantor (Carl) of Jacksonville, Florida. grandchildren’s: Gavin (Sarah), Courtney (Jessie), Dawson (Kyra), Browning, Bailey. Great grandchildren: Emory, Elle, Bastian, Hugh. Joyce is also survived by a host of A host of nieces, nephews and good friends.

Ricky Darrel Malone Sr. of Lynchburg, Tennessee passed from this life at the age of 66 years on Sunday, July 26, 2026, peacefully at his place of residence.
He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Margie L. Malone, his children, Ricky Malone Jr. (Whitney), Jonathan Malone, Michelle Laporte, Ronnie Malone, 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Ricky enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, traveling with his wife, camping in the outdoors, boating on the lake, taking trips to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, Blue Ridge, Georgia and Bay, St. Lewis Mississippi.
He also enjoyed spending time with his very close friends, Rusty and Cindy Howard.
Ricky was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. His dedication to helping people, and his community was truly like no other. Lastly, he loved his dogs like his own children.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Lynchburg Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Lynchburg Cemetery in Lynchburg, Tennessee. Friends may visit at the funeral home with the family on Thursday from 12:00 PM until the time of service.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of approximately 69 years, Aaron Evans, two sons, Frankie and Billy Evans, brothers, William, Kenneth and Paul Bates, sisters, Shirlee Curlee, Lorena Pierce, Peggy Bartlett, Dot Bennett and Bertha Vann.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Lynchburg Funeral Home with Steve Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Blanche Cemetery in Taft, Tennessee. Friends may visit at the funeral home with the family on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
Conda was a wonderful wife and mother She loved her family and was very devoted to them. She was very strong and courageous. Even when facing the passing of her husband and two sons, she remained strong and faithful. She loved her church and attending services whenever she was able. Conda found great joy in the simple things such as working in her yard tending to her flowers. She will be greatly missed.
Her survivors include her daughter, Diane (Daryl) Williams of Fayetteville, Tennessee grandchildren, Cory Hollis, Ryan Evans, and Josh Evans all of Fayetteville, Tennessee. She is also survived by several great grandchildren....

Billy Glen Bobo (Bill) 75 Years old, of Lynchburg Tennessee, passed away on July 23rd, 2026 due to complications from Parkinson’s Disease.

Bill was born September 3rd, 1950 in Fayetteville, TN to Don and Glyndon Bobo. Bill was a graduate of the Moore County High School class of 1968. Bill served in the Army and was deployed to Vietnam. Upon discharge from the Army, he became a member of the Tennessee Army National Guard. Bill attended and graduated from Tennessee Technological University where he earned a degree in Special Education and was an active member of the Alph Tau Omega fraternity (ATO). Bill completed graduate school at Trevecca University where he earned a Master’s Degree. Bill put his education to good use as a teacher in Moore County, with a career that spanned four decades.

Bill was married to Jo Ann (Sons) Bobo for 55 years upon his passing. They tied the knot on May 27th 1971. They enjoyed traveling and spoiling their grand-children.

Bill was a fan of Moore County Sports, where he served as the team statistician for over 20 years. Upon retirement he could be found on the sidelines or in the stands cheering the Raiders and giving his “expert opinions”. Within the community he was an active member of the Farris Creek Masonic Lodge where he served in many leadership roles. Bill was also a member of the American Legion, Post 192 where he could be found on the Lynchburg square raising the flag on Memorial Day, each year....
