I was having another one of those honest conversations with my heart.

It started with an email. Before I knew it, I had written four paragraphs.

When I read part of it aloud, I felt the ick in my body. I felt myself responding from an old pattern. Over explaining, softening what I felt, and trying to appease the other person when I did not feel that way internally.

I was responding from a smaller place in myself. It was not fair to either of us. I was offering something I did not have the space or desire to keep giving.

So I took a step back and let it rest.

The next morning, after my morning practice, something clicked. I heard, “Choose what would make your inner child proud.”

And in that moment, I knew I needed to fu***ng nip this in the bud right now.

Not the person. The pattern.

Then I thought about the flowers. The more marigolds I pick, the more they bloom. The more I trim the zinnias, the more they bloom. The plant grows bigger. It flourishes.

That was me choosing differently.

And choosing differently did not feel like an exhale. It felt uncomfortable as hell. But I knew the exhale was on the other side of it. In choosing differently, I was already beginning to exhale.

I have noticed that in some of my biggest moments of growth and eye opening realizations, there is a moment of ick. It is my body telling me something is not in alignment, but it is also the ick of seeing the pattern and how I was responding from it.

If I let myself sit with the ick and hold it in a compassionate way, I can let it move through like waves. The ick is part of an old story held in my body. It can move through, and I can keep the awareness.

Choose.
Show up for yourself.

If you feel drawn to me or the work I share, there are several ways we can work together. There really isn’t one right place to begin.

You may feel called to come for a sound session, where you can lie down, let your body rest, and receive. Or you may want sound and energy work woven together, with space for clearing, grounding, and coming back into relationship with yourself.

You may feel drawn to microdosing mentorship and having someone walk beside you as you tend your intention, listen to what is unfolding, and bring the work into your everyday life.

For those who feel called toward private ceremonial work, I offer sacred medicine day immersions and two-night retreats. Each experience is shaped individually and may include either a micro or macro journey. Some people feel ready for a deeper experience, while others need to begin slowly, ground into the experience, and build trust, kinship, and a sense of safety. There is no need to rush any of it.

I also offer seasonal group retreats here on the land. If you already have a small group of people you would like to gather with, we can talk about creating a private retreat together.

All of these offerings are different, but I hold each of them with the same care. I want people to have space to soften, listen to themselves, and meet whatever is ready to be met without needing to perform or have everything figured out.

You can read more through the link in my bio. Sound and energy sessions can be booked directly through the website. If you feel drawn to working with me through sacred medicine and ceremony, you can begin by scheduling a connection conversation there.

The eclipse season has passed, but I am still feeling its energy moving through me.

Personally, I have so much gratitude in my heart. I have experienced a large shift in my own life, and at the same time, with all of these new incoming energies, I have been buzzing and not sleeping as much.

This is a practice I have been using for myself, but it also felt like something I was meant to share with others.

In so many of my recent conversations, I keep hearing a similar thread. A lot of people feel like they are standing at a crossroads, only there aren’t just two paths. There are dozens of paths to choose from.

There is so much happening in the world, in the ethers, and internally within our own minds and bodies on a daily basis.

This is a simple clearing and grounding practice with the plants. A way to get yourself outside, place your bare feet upon Mother Earth, and show up for a small act of sacred self care for the mind, body, and spirit.

Take your time and make sure you move the plants over your entire body. This is something you can do for yourself or share with a loved one and offer to one another.

There is only so much time in a video, and one thing I didn’t mention is that when you are finished, you may notice the plants have changed color. They will often become bruised, and sometimes they take on a darker or almost black tinge.

In my own intuitive relationship with the plants, I experience this as a sign of what has been released, of what has been allowed to fall away from the heart, creating space for the parts of us that may have felt as though they were floating above our heads to settle back into the body.

When you are finished, you can bring the plants to a tree or place them in your compost. Speak loving words of gratitude and offer them back to Mother Earth, where they can decompose and be returned to the earth as light.

There are so many reasons a woman may feel drawn to this retreat.

You may be looking for clarity or connection. You may feel something wanting to move through your creativity. You may be longing for a deeper relationship with yourself, the earth, or spirit. You don’t have to know exactly what you’re looking for. Sometimes, you just feel the pull.

When I feel into this retreat, I keep coming back to kinship. To being held in a carefully tended space while still being able to have your own experience. Each woman turning inward and moving through something of her own, with other women beside her doing the same.

The Women’s Sacred Medicine Retreat will be held October 9–11 here on the land in the Blue Ridge foothills near Lynchburg, Virginia. The gathering is limited to six women.

If you feel drawn to this retreat, follow the link in my bio to learn more and schedule a private connection call with me.

Please schedule your connection call by September 27 to begin the registration process.

Lately, I have felt called to share more of the personal story behind the work I offer. There has been deep medicine for me in allowing myself to be vulnerable and seen.

People come to me in vulnerable spaces, and I want them to see what shaped me.

The work I hold now was not born from one decision. It has been a calling in my bones, shaped over time through healing, study, ceremony, practice, and integration.

What feels like lifetimes ago, I spent a decade working in the mental health field, primarily with children and later with adults. That work shaped me, but I wanted something slower, with room for the body, the Earth, ceremony, and the time change takes.

I earned a bachelor’s in behavioral science and a master’s in transpersonal psychology and continued studying spiritual guidance, therapeutic sound, and somatic breathwork.

Nearly thirteen years ago, sacred medicines became part of my life. A year later, I began studying herbalism. I completed two herbal apprenticeships and later created and taught my own.

For ten years, much of Heart Centered Herbals centered around the herbs I grew from seed, tended, harvested, and made into products that I sold. During that time, I held women’s circles, facilitated longer group programs, and offered sound and energy work.

More recently, as I stepped into ceremonial work, I completed Psilocybin Coach and Psychedelic Support Services Training, with education in preparation, ethical support, integration, and microdosing mentorship. During that time, I became an ordained minister through The Spore Foundation.

My husband, Adam, has been beside me through all of this. We have traveled and shared this path side by side while having experiences of our own.

Together, we steward fourteen acres with gardens, an orchard, and the workshop we built. He has witnessed more of my journey than anyone and is the backbone of so much of what I do.

People close to me know this, but I have not talked about it much here. I am sharing it because it is part of how I got here and because I am proud of myself.

I am grateful for the beings who have walked alongside me, and I am grateful for my resilient, courageous, strong spirit.

My relationship with sacred medicines and ceremony has taught me many things.

This path helped me find the child within me who was still waiting to be held. The little girl who carried things that were never hers to carry.

In ceremony, I learned to take her face into my hands and remind her again and again.

None of this was your fault.
You were a child.
The adults were responsible.
You did the right thing.
You were never responsible for holding the family together.

This is part of what brought me to the sacred medicine path and brought me into an even deeper relationship with plants, a relationship that has been with me for as long as I can remember.

This work has kept me devoted to ceremony, to prayer, and to something greater than myself, what I have come to know as the Divine Cosmic Mother. It has also deepened my commitment to holding space and being a witness to others.

This is my story and what brought me here. We each come to this work carrying our own lives, our own questions, and our own longings. Sometimes, we may not even fully understand what is calling us.

For me, ceremony brought me back to that little girl.

Integration has been the long, daily practice of becoming the adult who protects her.

Healing has not meant leaving the younger parts of myself behind.

It has meant learning how to meet them with the love and care they needed all along.

Keep secrets and bottle them in until you feel like your soul is vomiting inside of your body.

That was a big part of my life.

And I know I am not the only one.

How many of us have spoken honestly about something happening within our families, only to be treated as though we were the problem for saying it out loud?

We are told we are sharing too much. That we are dramatic, too sensitive, unforgiving, or living in the past.

But saying it aloud did not create what happened.

This began for me when I was a child. I told the truth, relationships ruptured, the adults around me became less stable, and life became more chaotic.

As a child, I thought everything that happened afterward was because of me.

I was the child, and later the adult, who spoke honestly about things people wanted to keep hidden.

I tried to name the patterns everyone else had learned to walk on eggshells around.

And I was still told I couldn’t say that.

I think I was born to be a truth teller. So I am going to tell the truth.

I am not responsible for keeping anyone comfortable with a version of me that requires my self-abandonment.

I share because silence was part of what harmed me.

I decide what remains private. I decide what becomes public.

I know my truth. I always have.

I claim it now.

And I pour from a full fu***ng cup so someone else might recognize themselves and know that they are not alone.

Since Dolly Parton passed, I have been reading so many beautiful stories about her life, her generosity, and the many ways she used what she had to care for others.

Among everything being shared, one reflection really touched my heart personally. Dolly spoke about not being able to have children. She said it bothered her for a while, but eventually she realized that maybe she was meant to be a mother to everyone.

I understand something about that.

Adam and I went through quite a journey with infertility, and it was part of a deep sadness I carried for a long time. There were many things in my life that I experienced as punishment. I wondered why so much had happened and why some of the things I wanted so deeply were not meant for me.

Infertility was only one part of what I was carrying.

Nearly two decades ago, I started waking up to myself. I became more conscious of what I was carrying and felt a pull toward something I could not yet name. I didn’t know where it would lead. I just knew I wanted to live differently.

Along the way, I discovered that I am this multifaceted jewel.

I have all these gifts and talents. I am a Jane of many trades, so to say. There was so much buried beneath the soil, so much underneath all that rubble, and I had to excavate it to find out who I was under everything that had happened.

This year, something shifted in the way I understood my life. What I went through was not a punishment. It was preparation. It prepared me to understand, to break cycles, to create, to love, and to see all the different facets of myself.

I may not have become a mother in the way I once imagined, but I look around now and see overflowing gardens, elderberry-stained hands, and an overflowing heart. I see all the ways I mother and tend life. Through seeds and plants, through music and prayer, through creativity, through the spaces I hold, and through the sanctuary Adam and I are creating here on the land.

I am honored that all of this has become part of what I offer others here in this heart-centered sanctuary.

I may be a multifaceted jewel, but I am not perfectly polished.

Wrinkles, elderberry juice, and all.
