Jeremy Blackshire, LPC, LSATP

Jeremy Blackshire, LPC, LSATP With over 12 years of experience, Jeremy specializes in working with individuals who desire to address current life concerns.

His aim is to provide an environment where his clients feel safe enough to explore the uncomfortable topics that life can bring. Starting counseling can be awkward and uncomfortable. Some may view it as “weak.” Jeremy believes it takes great strength and courage to share on personal experiences and challenges, especially with a stranger. Jeremy believes that regardless of past experiences an indiv

idual can achieve their highest potential when given the opportunity to explore and develop necessary skills with the ultimate goal of healing. Jeremy works to empower his clients to identify their goals, and work towards achieving their desired outcome while providing a space to be heard (sometimes for the first time). With over 12 years of experience, Jeremy specializes in working with individuals who struggle with concerns of inter/intrapersonal conflict, family / marriage conflict, boundaries, life adjustments, behavioral / emotional concerns, trauma, addiction and more. Understanding the importance of the therapeutic relationship with his clients, Jeremy incorporates a variety of therapy modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered, Solution Focused, and Trauma informed approaches in order to best meet each client where they are. If you are ready to explore a new path on your journey, Jeremy welcomes the opportunity to listen and support you in this process.

Mental Health Tip:
Your brain is wired to notice what’s wrong — but you can retrain it. Spend 60 seconds each morning naming one thing you’re proud of, no matter how small. This simple practice boosts self‑esteem and builds emotional resilience over time.

If you’re working on healing, growing, or breaking old patterns, counseling can give you the tools and support to move forward with confidence. I help individuals build healthier habits, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful change.

You deserve support that actually works. Contact today and let’s start your next chapter together.

As vernacular wisdom says: “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink.”

How happy the people must be who avoid frustration by not trying to get the horse to drink water when it has no thirst or does not like water!

Show people the water. Show them how cool and refreshing it is.When they get dehydrated, tell them the water will help them.

Tell them how much you enjoy drinking water together. Show them what it has done for you.

But realize you can’t make them drink.

They will do that only when and if they want to, when and if they are ready to.

Remember: they are free to choose.

Mental Health Tip of the Day

One of the most overlooked skills in mental health is transition time — the small pause between one task, role, or stressor and the next. Without it, your brain stays in “go‑mode,” which can increase irritability, fatigue, and emotional overload.

A simple way to build healthier transitions is the 30‑Second Check‑In:

Name your current state (tired, tense, scattered, okay)

Notice what your body needs (water, movement, a slower pace)

Set your intention for the next thing (focus, patience, calm)

This tiny pause helps your nervous system reset and makes the next part of your day more manageable. Small adjustments like this add up over time.

If you’re working on stress management or emotional regulation, skills like this can support real change.

Somewhere along the way, most of us learned to measure ourselves by how others treated us. If they were dismissive, we assumed something was wrong with us. If they were cold, we figured we must have deserved it.

Your non-conscious mind absorbed that equation early. And it still runs it.
Here's what the research shows: how someone treats you is the output of their own accumulated patterns. Their history, their wounds, their unprocessed experiences. Their non-conscious mind in motion.

When someone's behavior toward you is cold or unkind, that's information about what's running in them. A pattern their mind built long before you entered the picture.
You were never the variable being measured.

Forward this to the friend who's been reading too much into how someone's been treating them lately. ❤️‍🩹

Your pain is real. What you've been through is real. And none of that is up for debate.

And the people on the receiving end of your reactions didn't cause it. That tension is one of the hardest things to sit with. Because it means two things can be true at the same time: you are someone who has been hurt, and you are someone whose patterns may be hurting others. That's not a comfortable sentence. It's also not a reason to shut down.

This week's episode is for the person who is self-aware enough to ask the hard question, and brave enough to want an answer. Five steps to recognize the patterns running beneath your responses, starting with the one most people skip: seeing yourself clearly, with accuracy and with kindness toward yourself.

You don't have to choose between understanding your past and taking responsibility for your present. That's the work. And it starts here.

True healing often involves a combination of spiritual wisdom, community support, and professional guidance.

By embracing these resources, we open ourselves up to the full spectrum of healing God offers us. You wouldn’t tell someone with a broken leg to “pray about it” instead of seeing a doctor. Don’t dismiss professional mental health support as unnecessary... even for people of faith.

Your journey toward emotional and spiritual health matters. Not just for your own well-being, but for your ability to live out your calling and positively impact those around you.

Take that first step today, and trust that God will meet you on the path of integrated healing.

Today’s Mental Health Reset
When your mind feels crowded, try this small but powerful shift:
Slow down the moment, not the whole day.

You don’t have to overhaul everything to feel better. Sometimes it’s enough to pause for 30 seconds and check in with yourself:

What’s one thing I need right now?

What’s one thing I can let go of today?

What’s one small action that would help me feel grounded?

Tiny adjustments add up. You deserve moments of calm, even on busy days.

If you feel comfortable, share one small thing you’re doing today to take care of yourself. Someone else might need that idea more than you know.
