Rest + Restore
You walk in, take a bolster, two blankets, a block, a find a spot. Nothing is required of you before class starts.
We open with a few minutes of breath work. Slow through the nose, exhale longer than the inhale. This is the most direct access any of us has to a body that will not settle on command.
Then we build the first shape together. Props go under everything, so your muscles have nothing left to do. You stay for several minutes. Your teacher talks you into the position and then goes quiet.
That quiet is the class. Rest is a skill, and most of us were never taught it. We know how to push and we know how to numb out. This is where you practice the third option.
Four or five shapes, with the breath to return to between them. Emotions surface here sometimes. That is normal and welcome.
We finish flat on the floor, and you get up slower than you expected.
Over time: a wider window for stress, better sleep, and the ability to feel what is happening inside you before it becomes a symptom.
All bodies, all levels, including people who have never set foot in a yoga room.
Come tired and worn out. We are here for you
