Liposuction removes fat, but it doesn't tighten skin. If the skin is already significantly stretched or lacks elasticity, removing volume underneath it can make the looseness more noticeable. That doesn't mean liposuction is the wrong answer. It just means the plan needs to match the problem.

For patients with good skin elasticity, the skin can often retract nicely after fat removal. For others, the better option may be combining liposuction with a skin-tightening treatment or considering a procedure that removes excess skin altogether.

This is why “I want lipo” is only the starting point of the conversation. The real question is: what will give you the result you actually want?
