To my loyal and kind-hearted community,
I want to take a moment to share an important update about the future of YOM and our beautiful yoga home here in Butler.
Over the past month, I have been in discussions with my landlord in hopes of continuing our lease. Despite our efforts, I have been told that the lease will not be renewed.
At this time, I have not been given a clear or valid explanation for this decision. The individuals involved also own and operate other businesses on Main Street, which has made this situation even more difficult and concerning.
Without sharing every detail publicly, I want you to know that this decision will result in YOM leaving our current location—and potentially the end of a business that has been a part of downtown Butler for nearly 10 years.
This space and these classes mean so much to our community. Many of you rely on yoga for your mental health, physical well-being, healing, and connection. I understand how upsetting and unfair this situation feels, because I feel that way too.
I have worked hard to be a previous property owner and actively spend every day being a respected business owner. I also feel that I have been treated disrespectfully by some neighboring businesses and am concerned that I may be experiencing discrimination as a female, single-mother business owner.
I am sharing this now because I believe our community deserves an honest explanation about why YOM’s future at this location is ending. If you have advice, know of local resources, or can recommend someone who may be able to help us understand our options, please reach out privately.
Most importantly, please do not confront, threaten, or harass anyone involved. My hope is to find a fair, peaceful, and lawful resolution—and to continue providing this community with a place to breathe, heal, and connect.
Thank you for your continued love, support, and understanding. It means more than I can say.
With gratitude,
Heather
