A Difficult Goodbye

Devastation doesn’t begin to describe what I’m feeling right now.

I built Yoga on Main from nothing—literally. What began as an idea became a home, a community, and a place that has meant more to me and my family than I could ever adequately put into words.

There were countless late nights spent building this dream while my babies slept at home. Years of sacrifice. Endless hours, energy, love, and an enormous amount of my own money invested into creating something I believed in deeply. And now, to have it taken away so suddenly is a heartbreak I am still struggling to comprehend.

YOM is so much more than a yoga studio. It is how I support my daughters. It is a place where so many of us have come to heal—to move through grief, heartbreak, loss, uncertainty, and pain. It has been a safe place to breathe when life felt too heavy. And watching the possibility of losing that place is absolutely devastating.

Even writing those words feels surreal. Like I am living through a terrible nightmare and, at any moment, I will wake up and realize none of this is real.

I want to personally thank every single person who has reached out, offered encouragement, shared a kind word, or simply reminded me that what we built together matters. Your love and support during this incredibly difficult time mean more to me than you know.

Whatever happens next, I hope you understand that Yoga on Main was never just a business to me. It was my heart, my livelihood, my family’s future, and a place I poured everything I had into.

Thank you for loving this place with me.

With all my love,
Heather

To my loyal and kind-hearted community,

I want to take a moment to share an important update about the future of YOM and our beautiful yoga home here in Butler.

Over the past month, I have been in discussions with my landlord in hopes of continuing our lease. Despite our efforts, I have been told that the lease will not be renewed.

At this time, I have not been given a clear or valid explanation for this decision. The individuals involved also own and operate other businesses on Main Street, which has made this situation even more difficult and concerning.

Without sharing every detail publicly, I want you to know that this decision will result in YOM leaving our current location—and potentially the end of a business that has been a part of downtown Butler for nearly 10 years.

This space and these classes mean so much to our community. Many of you rely on yoga for your mental health, physical well-being, healing, and connection. I understand how upsetting and unfair this situation feels, because I feel that way too.

I have worked hard to be a previous property owner and actively spend every day being a respected business owner. I also feel that I have been treated disrespectfully by some neighboring businesses and am concerned that I may be experiencing discrimination as a female, single-mother business owner.

I am sharing this now because I believe our community deserves an honest explanation about why YOM’s future at this location is ending. If you have advice, know of local resources, or can recommend someone who may be able to help us understand our options, please reach out privately.

Most importantly, please do not confront, threaten, or harass anyone involved. My hope is to find a fair, peaceful, and lawful resolution—and to continue providing this community with a place to breathe, heal, and connect.

Thank you for your continued love, support, and understanding. It means more than I can say.

With gratitude,
Heather

Meet Abbey 🤩

Abbey is a senior dance major at Slippery Rock University (SRU). She was introduced to yoga through dance, her first true passion, but ultimately fell in love during a time in her life when she really needed to reconnect with herself. After experiencing the benefits for herself, Abbey knew she wanted to help others feel the same thing. She completed her 200-hour training with Linda Meacci in the summer of 2025 through the SRU Department of Dance. In her class, you can expect to feel challenged, mentally and physically, through creative sequencing and enjoy some good music!

Abbey will be leading a FREE All levels Flow class this Saturday at 9:30 AM. Register on Mindbody to secure your spot!
