Some of our team and our sister clinic, , wrapped up May by volunteering at the Special Olympics Washington State Games! 🏅👓

Together, we helped provide vision screenings for more than 75 athletes, helping ensure they have the visual skills they need to perform at their best. It was an incredible weekend filled with teamwork, community, and lots of smiles.

A huge thank you to all the athletes, volunteers, and Special Olympics Washington staff who made this event possible. We’re grateful for the opportunity to serve and support such an inspiring community! 💙

Vision is more than 20/20 with Dr. Jensen 👀

A child can have perfect eyesight and still struggle to read.

Sight = clarity
Vision = how the brain processes what the eyes see

If the eyes aren’t working together, reading can feel exhausting—words may blur, move, or overlap.

School screenings don’t catch this.

Some of our vision therapists and doctors attended the annual OVDRA conference this year in Louisville, Kentucky! 🐎✨

Our amazing VT, Jen, even arrived early to teach “VT 101” — we are so proud of her!

Our founder, Dr. Torgerson, also presented alongside Dr. Hellerstein, sharing knowledge and passion with the vision therapy community.

It was an incredible time of learning, growing, and building connections with colleagues from around the world. 🌍

And in true Derby season spirit, we dressed in classic attire with our fanciest fascinators — because learning is even better when you’re having fun with your work family! 💐

Better together! 👁️👁️✨
We had an incredible day of growth and learning at the OVDRA Washington Chapter Winter Seminar this Saturday. Dr. Katie Hash and Vision Therapist Jared Torgerson presented a motivating concept on combining VT with subjects our patients are interested in.
We also learned from Vision Therapist Maddie, Dr. Kristi Kading, Dr. , and local ophthalmologist Dr. Thomas Lenart. Thank you for hosting, !
With 14 doctors and therapists from Alderwood Vision Therapy and Development in attendance, we are leveling up our skills to bring even more expertise to our patients!
It was a powerhouse day for developmental optometry and vision therapy in Washington! 🧠💪
