In the bustle of hustle culture, the concept of rest has often been confused with laziness. We can get caught up and forget to rest, or we can find ourselves feeling guilty for resting. Resting is essential to function; without resting, our nervous system can become fried, and that is when irritability can become more evident or when everyday activities aren't as appealing. Rest looks like doing something that doesn't add to the input in your mind; that could be coloring something simple, taking a walk without your phone, lying down without watching anything, taking a long bath, etc. It can also look like taking a vacation if it's possible.

You deserve a rest; you need to rest.

What helps children thrive later in life?

Research points to skills like emotional regulation, resilience, responsibility, self-control, respect, empathy, gratitude, and connection.

The good news?

These skills aren’t developed in a single conversation. They’re built over time through relationships, everyday experiences, challenges, and the examples children see in the adults around them.

Children learn as much from what we model as from what we teach.

The goal isn’t to raise perfect children.

It’s to raise capable adults who can navigate challenges, build healthy relationships, contribute to their communities, and maintain their well-being throughout life.

The epidemic in men's mental health is often attributed to how isolating the culture around men's friendships can be. Never talking about your problems and some of the internal turmoil can lead to difficulty in simply just living in day-to-day life. So, we encourage specifically men to shift the culture of male friendships and create spaces where your words are valued, emotions are felt, and burdens are shared. Recently, Cognitive Dissonance has been more relevant, especially in the writing and cinema community. But what exactly is Cognitive Dissonance? First coined by Leon Festinger in 1957 in A Theory of Cognitive Dissonance, it has evolved and been more defined and elaborated on.
