Horne – Pamla Lucille Horne, age 73, of Sanderson, Florida passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, at St. Vincent’s Riverside Center for Caring with her loving family by her side. She was born in Macon, Georgia on May 24, 1953, to the late Thomas Passmore and Martha Rowell Passmore. She spent most of her life in Baker County where she built a beautiful life and created lifelong memories. Shortly after graduating high school, she married her best friend, Lester Darryl Horne. Together they shared a wonderful marriage and were blessed with a legacy of two children, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Family was truly the center of Pamla’s world. She devoted her life to nurturing those around her and she cherished her roles as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Pamla believed in the importance of a fresh start, a philosophy she lived out every morning by preparing breakfast for her husband and children. She was the matriarch who kept everyone organized, seamlessly planning and hosting the family events that created lasting memories. She was saved by God’s amazing grace at an early age which transformed her life and shaped the woman she became. For years, Pamla attended Calvary Baptist Church, praising and worshipping alongside fellow church family. Outside of her devotion to her family and faith, Pamla had an appreciation for bluegrass soulful music. Nothing brought Pamla greater joy than being surrounded by her family, and she especially delighted in creating unforgettable moments with her beloved grandchildren who affectionately called her “Gigi”. Pamla was truly an anchor to her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of years, Lester Darryl Horne; and her sister, Janice Durenda Horne.

Pamla is survived by her beloved children, Quincy Darryl (April) Horne of Macclenny, FL and Lester Todd (Sandy) Horne of Taylor, FL; sister, Anjette Smith of Lake Butler, FL; grandchildren, Grace, Heather, Bryson, Hardy Lee, Rhett, Dalton, and Levi; great grandchildren, Colson, Kinsley, and Lawton.

A Celebration of Pamla’s Life will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 11:00 AM at V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services Chapel. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery, 2115 Florida 100, Lake City, FL 32025. Pamla’s family will receive friends on Thursday an hour prior to the service at the funeral home chapel. The arrangements are under the care and direction of V. TODD FERREIRA FUNERAL SERVICES, 250 North Lowder Street, Macclenny, FL 32063 (904)259-5700. We've seen over and over in this profession that grief is a unique journey for every individual. It's best to remember that we still all experience grief in unique ways. Grief is both something that can bring people together as a common experience, but also can be isolating and lonely. This is a quote worth sharing by Becky Benson, "The problem with comparing grief is that by assigning our personal value system to someone else’s pain, we may undermine the validity of their grief." David Ebersold Turner Jr., “Dave,” age 70, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on June 8, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. David fought every step of the way, true to the man he was.

He spent his life doing what he loved most, working with his hands, spending time with family, and enjoying the outdoors. A highly respected fiberglass craftsman, David took great pride in being known as one of the best fiberglass boat repairmen in Northeast Florida. His attention to detail earned him the respect of countless customers and friends throughout the boating community.

He was the beloved son of the late David and Jewel Turner. He is survived by his children, Stacy Dobscha (Bill), Amy Hill (Jacob), and David Turner, III. He is also survived by his siblings, John Turner (Pam), Jeannie Turner, and Peggy Turner; his grandchildren, Steven (Haley), Savannah, Taylor (Christian), Drew and Kinsley; and his great-grandchildren, Hudson, Knox, Beckam, Everly, Kyus, Atlas, and Asher. David will also be missed by his loyal dogs, Chowder and Dixie.

When he wasn’t working, Dave could often be found riding his motorcycle, and enjoying life on the water; fishing, boating, and taking family trips to the Florida Keys. He never met a stranger and had a way of making friends wherever he went. He was a protector and a provider and loved his family fiercely.

You would often hear him say, “It don’t matter,” a phrase that perfectly reflected his easygoing spirit. Known for his quick wit, he always seemed to have a joke ready to share.

His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the friendships he built, and the many lives he touched throughout his 70 years.

David's family lovingly prepared this tribute.

A celebration of his life is being planned for July. More details to follow. Arrangements are under the care of V. Todd Ferreira Services, 250 N Lowder St., Macclenny, FL 32063. 904-259-5700. Visit www.ferreiraf
