Thomas – Billy W. Thomas, age 82, of Macclenny, Florida passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026, at his daughter’s residence in Hampton with his loving family by his side. Billy was born in Macclenny, Florida on January 9, 1944, to the late Grady Thomas and Rosa Bell Burnsed Thomas. He was a lifelong resident of Baker County and proudly graduated from Baker County High School. Following graduation, he married his best friend and forever companion, Llana Jean. Together, they were blessed with 62 wonderful years of marriage, raising two precious daughters and building a legacy that grew to include seven sweet grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Billy was dedicated to learning and furthered his education at Lake City Community College, where he earned his Associate of Arts degree, before continuing his studies in electrical engineering at the University of Florida. Professionally, Billy built a commendable career, serving Florida Power & Light for 35 plus years and later working with Georgia Regional Utilities for another 10 years. After over 40 years of dedicated service, he officially retired. Outside of work, Billy was a true outdoorsman who found joy in hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. Above all else, Billy took immense pride in his role as a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He deeply cherished the time spent with his family and adored making memories with them. He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Llana Jean Thomas; brothers, Carl, Ray, and Wendell Thomas; and grandson, Preston Daniel Prescott.

Billy is survived by his daughters, Kalyn Davis of Starke, FL and Tammy (Nick) Prescott of Folkston, GA; 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; along with several extended family members and friends.

Dukeman- Buddy (Bud) Gene Dukeman, age 92, passed away on August 19, 2026 in Macclenny, Florida, with his son Stan at his side. Bud was born in Cadwell, Illinois on July 10, 1934. He grew up in Arthur, Illinois, graduating from Arthur High School in 1951. After graduation Bud worked at the Arthur lumber yard until his early twenties, where he then took a job with the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad (later Chesapeake and Ohio Transportation, CSX) at the Tuscola, IL depot. He remained with CSX until he retired in 1994. Bud was beloved by his family and caregivers, always offering a warm, friendly greeting. Bud married Eileen Marie Moon from Effingham, IL in September of 1961. Bud and Eileen attended and were active in the Forty Martyrs Catholic Church in Tuscola. For 40 years, he shared his life with Eileen until her passing after a battle with cancer. Later, he was fortunate to find love again with Pauline McMillian of Greenup, IL. They shared 24 wonderful years together, and she survives him. Bud enjoyed reading, watching movies, the Grand Ole Opry, playing table tennis, sports, and above all a lifelong love of St. Louis Cardinals baseball. Bud was preceded in death by his four siblings, James, Mary Ann, Maudine, and John.

Bud is survived by his children, Cynthia, Kathleen (Patrick) Rooney, Greg (Margaret) Dukeman, and Stan (Rene) Dukeman; as well as Pauline’s children, David Hand, Tommy (Yvonne), Brenda Scott, Teresa (Gillis) Imrie and Barbara Morgan and her spouse, Kevin, a fellow Cardinals fan to whom Bud was particularly close; grandchildren, Anton, Alexandra, Elizabeth, Jessie, Melissa, Caroline, Brittany, Nicholas, Brach, Michelle, David, Terri, Kerri, Lathan, Travis, Elisha, Blake, Dylan, Morgan, Courtney, Taylor Morgan, Thomas, Danaille, Christopher, Ryan, Taylor Hand, Brandon, and Olivia; and 15 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Bud’s Life will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at 4:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Macclenny. Bud’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the staff of The Villas of Hollybrook-Newton and to Macclenny Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their compassionate care, kindness, and unwavering support during his final years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cardinals Care, the charitable foundation of the St. Louis Cardinals, in honor of his lifelong love of the Cardinals and his belief in giving back to children in the community. Reoch – Paul Allen Reoch, age 68, passed away in his home in Sanderson, Florida, on August 21, 2026. He was born in Flushing, Queens, New York, on April 26, 1958, to the late Alvin Reoch and Helen Fromm Reoch. Paul was raised in New York and graduated from Commack High School South in 1976. Immediately following high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army for four years. Following his honorable discharge, Paul married the love of his life, Christine Guastella, on November 29, 1985. They were blessed with 40 wonderful years of marriage, three precious children, and four sweet grandchildren. They raised their family in South Chesterfield, Virginia, before relocating to Baker County, Florida, in 2020. Paul furthered his education at Bloomsburg University, earning a bachelor’s degree that paved the way for a long and dedicated career with the Department of Defense. He served as a Budget Analyst for DeCA for nearly 30 years before retiring in 2019. Paul was a born-again believer, accepting Christ into his life and maintained a deep, enduring faith. He was a exceptionally talented craftsman and a phenomenal woodworker, lovingly building furniture and unique pieces for his family and friends. Paul cherished the tranquility of the outdoors, finding great joy in fishing, boating, and listening to music. Above all, he treasured the time spent surrounded by his family. Paul was a true blessing and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded on death by his parents and sister, Diane Cipoletti.

Paul leaves behind his loving wife, Christine Reoch of Sanderson, FL; children, Jonathan (Kelsie) Reoch of Suffolk, VA, Christopher Reoch and Jennifer (Jason) Roberts, both of Sanderson, FL; brother, Dale (Debbie) Reoch of Spring Hill, FL; brother-in-law, Joesph Cipoletti; sister, Lisa Tiranno of Centereach, NY; 4 grandchildren, Aiden Reoch, Hannah Reoch, Landon Roberts, and Aria Roberts; along with many extended family and friends.

Dean - Bonnie Gay Dean, age 76, of Macclenny, Florida passed away on August 18, 2026, at her residence. She was born in Ocala, Florida on September 30, 1949, to the late Joseph Estel Gay and Verna Ellen Spofford Gay. Bonnie relocated to Jacksonville as a child and spent the majority of her early life in Duval County. She attended Englewood High School and graduated with the Robert E. Lee High School Class of 1967. In 1989, she made Baker County her forever home. She retired from Florida Department of Corrections at the New River Correctional Institution East. While she thoroughly enjoyed her work, Bonnie’s greatest and most cherished calling was as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She married her best friend and love of her life, Derek Edward Dean, on September 7, 1973, and together they were blessed with 33 wonderful years. Bonnie was exceptionally gifted with her hands and heart. She was deeply creative and spent years sewing, quilting, scrapbooking, and crafting handmade blankets, ornaments, and greeting cards to bring joy to others. In her younger years, she loved the outdoors—whether she was tending to her yard and garden with a remarkable green thumb or happily fishing alongside her brother, Johnny. She was also an amazing cook, delighting family and friends with both classic family recipes and new culinary creations. Bonnie was truly a treasure who touched countless lives. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her, and her family will proudly carry on her legacy for years to come. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Derek Edward Dean; and brothers, Sidney Gay and Joey Gay.

Bonnie leaves behind her children, Henry (Debbie) Simpson and Margaret (Donnie) Bishop both of Jacksonville, FL, Julie (Richard) Johns of Maxville, FL, Dawn (Luke) Hanes of Union Point, GA, and Penny (Jimmy) Hall of Jacksonville, FL; brothers, Johnny (Teresa) Gay of Bell, FL and Leroy Gay of Hawthorne, FL; sister, Gloria Williams of Jacksonville, FL: grandchildren, Derek, Dalton (Ali), Ricky, Kamerin, Emily, Jessica, Joshua, Bailey, and Dean; great granddaughter, Sadie; along with several extended family members and dear friends.
