Congratulations to one of our own, Josh Cocquit, Flight Nurse at Air Evac 144! 🎉🚁

Josh recently demonstrated exceptional clinical excellence during a patient flight, earning recognition from our incredible Medical Director, Dr. Ashley Huff, who presented him with the Medical Director Excellence Coin. This recognition is well deserved, and we could not be more proud of Josh and the outstanding care he provides to our patients!

It was the perfect way to wrap up a fantastic day of education led by Dr. Huff and our Regional Educator, Eric Bean. We are incredibly grateful for the countless hours, knowledge, and dedication they pour into our crews, continually challenging us to learn, grow, and provide the highest level of care possible.

Thank you both for everything you do to help make us better clinicians and a stronger team. And while we still have plenty of time left with her, we already know Dr. Huff will be deeply missed when she moves on next year. ❤️

A huge thank you to the Fulton County Fair for having us! 🚁❤️

We had an incredible time meeting so many wonderful people, making new friends, and creating lasting memories with our community. It’s always a privilege to connect with the people we have the honor of serving. While we hope you never need us during an emergency, we’re grateful for opportunities like this to share what we do and put faces to the names behind the helicopter.

One of the best parts of the day was seeing all the smiles, especially from the kids! Watching their excitement as they explored the aircraft, met the crew, and asked so many questions made the day even more special.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello. We can’t wait to see you again next year!

Good morning and happy Thursday! Today, Thursday July 23rd, one of our core community partners, Air Evac, will be conducting a planned landing and community education event at the Fulton County Fair in Lewistown at approximately 6:00 PM. This community event will take place near the front gate and last until approximately 7-30 or 8:00 PM and will be dependent upon any emergency call outs. Should the medical helicopter be needed for an emergency elsewhere, the event may need to be cancelled or cut short. Todays planned event is an opportunity for the community to meet the pilot and medical crew, see the medical helicopter up close and learn more about what Air Evac does. We wanted to put this out not only for the valuable community outreach and educational opportunity, but to alleviate any fears that could occur seeing such resources land at a community event. This is a planned event in conjunction with multiple agencies. Not an emergency.

It is with mixed feelings that we say goodbye to an incredible teammate and friend. While we are excited for the next chapter in his journey, Scott will be deeply missed by all of us.

Throughout his time with our team, and as our Base Clinical Lead, Scott consistently demonstrated professionalism, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. His clinical knowledge and dedication have helped shape our team into what it is today.

One of Scott’s greatest contributions has been his passion for mentoring and developing others. He is always willing to share his knowledge, offer support, and help others succeed.

Thank you, Scott, for everything you’ve done for our team, our patients, and our organization. We wish you nothing but success, happiness, and fulfillment in your next adventure.

AE144 is on standby at the Chicagoland Speedway today. What started as a rainy morning, with the jet driers on the track, has turned into a nice day!

Here are some great photos that truly capture all that goes into making a patient transport successful. It starts long before the patient arrives at the helicopter; it starts with the first responders on scene.
We’d like to thank Lifeguard EMS for the call as well as Macomb Fire for teamwork today, as they brought a patient to our pad to be rapidly transported to a definitive care center.
Also thanks to our friends over at MDH for being in the right place at the right time and catching us in action and sending these our way!
