☕️ Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is pause.

As we head into the weekend, give yourself permission to slow down for a few minutes. No fixing. No planning. No trying to stay one step ahead of everything.

Just breathe.

A quiet cup of coffee, a walk outside, a few moments without distractions—those small pauses matter more than we often realize.

Healing doesn’t always happen in the big breakthroughs. Sometimes it starts in the small moments when your mind and body finally get a chance to rest.

If you’ve been thinking about starting therapy, summer can be a great time to begin. 🌿

You’re not lazy. You’re not careless. You’re not ‘too much.’ 🤍

One of the hardest parts of living with ADHD is growing up hearing labels that don’t actually fit.

What looks like:
• laziness
• being dramatic
• not listening
• lack of motivation
• carelessness

may actually be struggles with executive functioning, emotional regulation, attention, motivation, and working memory.

When we understand what’s really happening, we can replace shame with support and self-criticism with self-compassion.

Whether you’re a parent trying to understand your child, a teen struggling in school, or an adult who has always felt misunderstood, ADHD is more than a collection of symptoms—it’s a different way of experiencing the world.

Understanding changes everything. 🌿

🌿 Hello, June.

A new month. A new season. A fresh opportunity to check in with yourself.

Summer often brings vacations, longer days, and a change of pace—but it can also be a time when we finally notice the stress, anxiety, overwhelm, or emotions we’ve been pushing aside.

If therapy has been on your mind, consider this your sign. 💛

There’s no perfect time to start healing, growing, or asking for support. But the beginning of a new month feels like a pretty good place to begin.

And if you’re looking for a safe place to start, we’re here.

Going into the weekend, here’s your reminder: support doesn’t have to wait until things feel like a crisis. 💛

Sometimes kids are struggling with big feelings.
Sometimes teens are overwhelmed and shutting down.
Sometimes young adults are trying to hold it all together while feeling anxious, stuck, or exhausted.

Therapy can be a space to build coping skills, confidence, and real support—not just “fix problems.”

If you’ve been thinking about reaching out for yourself or your child, this might be your sign. 🌿

Hope the holiday weekend gave you a little space to breathe, rest, reflect… or at least slow down for a minute. 🤍

Sometimes having that extra space gives us clarity.

If therapy has been on your mind lately—if you found yourself feeling overwhelmed, emotionally tired, anxious, stuck, or just realizing you may need a little extra support—this is your reminder:

You do not have to have the “right” words to start therapy.

You don’t need a perfectly explained reason.
You don’t need to be in a major crisis.
You don’t need to know exactly where to begin.

You can show up unsure.
You can show up messy.
You can show up saying, “I don’t even know where to start.”

That’s okay. That’s actually part of the process. 🌿

A simple “I think I need support” is enough.

If you’ve been considering therapy, maybe this is your sign to take the first step. ✨

Memorial Day is often filled with cookouts, long weekends, and time with the people we love—but at its heart, it’s a day of remembrance. ❤️🤍💙

Today we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country and the families who carry that loss every day.

As a therapist, I also know days like today can bring up grief, memories, complicated emotions, or quiet reflection in unexpected ways. Two things can be true at once: gratitude and grief, joy and heaviness.

Holding space for both today. 🇺🇸✨

Long weekends can be fun… but they can also be a chance to slow down in ways we normally don’t let ourselves.

If Monday gives you a little extra breathing room, maybe this is your reminder that rest is productive too.

Time to reflect.
Time to reset.
Time to notice the thoughts, patterns, or perspectives that may not be serving you anymore.

Sometimes healing doesn’t start with doing more.
Sometimes it starts with pausing long enough to see things differently.

A new perspective can change a lot.

For the kids, teens, and young adults carrying a lot right now—you don’t have to figure it all out alone. ✨💛

You might not be lazy. You might be overwhelmed. 🤍

Sometimes stress doesn’t look like panic.
Sometimes it looks like:
• staring at your to-do list but doing nothing
• scrolling endlessly without actually feeling rested
• avoiding even “simple” tasks
• feeling numb, disconnected, or shut down

From a nervous system perspective, this can be a protective response—not a character flaw.

When stress feels too overwhelming for too long, the body can shift into a shutdown state (sometimes called functional freeze or dorsal vagal shutdown) to conserve energy and protect itself.

That doesn’t mean you’re broken. It means your nervous system may be asking for safety, support, and regulation—not shame.

Small things can help:
🌿 gentle movement
🌿 slower exhales
🌿 hydration / warmth
🌿 connection with safe people
🌿 reducing overwhelm one tiny step at a time

If this feels familiar, you’re not alone. 💛

The Sunday scaries, anyone? 🥹

Sometimes anxiety doesn’t show up as a panic attack.

Sometimes it looks like:
• overthinking the week ahead
• replaying awkward conversations from Friday
• mentally preparing for every possible worst-case scenario
• feeling unable to fully relax, even on your day off
• needing reassurance that everything is “fine”

That constant “something feels off” feeling? That may be anxiety quietly running the show.

If Sundays feel heavy for you, you’re not alone. The transition into a new week can stir up a lot—especially when life already feels full.

Take a breath. Ground yourself. You do not have to solve the entire week tonight. 🌿

I’m excited to share that I recently completed additional certification in ADHD Assessment & Treatment focused on evidence-based care for ADHD across the lifespan.

ADHD often shows up as much more than “difficulty paying attention”—it can impact executive functioning, emotional regulation, anxiety, self-esteem, relationships, school, and work functioning.

As a therapist, I’m passionate about helping clients better understand how their brains work, build practical tools that actually fit their lives, and move from overwhelm toward confidence.

Thank you to Pacifica Counseling & Psychiatry for the support and kind recognition. 💛
