Congrats to our graduate, Dr. Lakisha Stevenson, DNP, FNP-BC! 🎉👏

Dr. Stevenson obtained her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Delta State University this year.

Dr. Stevenson continually serves our community after joining the Noxubee Medical Complex team just two years ago.

Providing compassionate care is intrinsic to who she is as she believes, “It means understanding the unique needs of the community, building trusting relationships with patients and families, and providing comprehensive care that is accessible, timely, and culturally sensitive.”

When asked what inspires her, Dr. Stevenson stated, “What I love most about serving patients in Noxubee County is the opportunity to build lasting relationships and make a meaningful impact across generations of families. In a close-knit community, you have the privilege of getting to know patients personally, understanding their unique circumstances, and partnering with them over time to achieve better health outcomes.”

Dr. Stevenson is no new comer when it comes to hard-work, dedication and success that lifts each other up. She stands as a beacon of inspiration for dreamers all over.

“I hope my journey shows young people in our rural community that their goals are achievable, no matter where they start.”

She adds, “I want future healthcare professionals to know that our communities need them. If my story encourages even one young person to believe in their potential, continue their education, and serve others through healthcare, then I consider that a meaningful accomplishment.”

And what an accomplishment it is, Dr. Stevenson! Please join us in congratulating success, community, and growth for us all! 👏

June is Men’s Health Month!💪

At Noxubee Medical Complex, we recognize that good health is a lifelong journey—one that impacts not only men today but also the generations that follow.

Men often prioritize work, family, and responsibilities over their own well-being, but taking care of your health is one of the most important investments you can make. From young boys learning healthy habits to fathers, grandfathers, and community leaders setting positive examples, every generation plays a role in building a healthier future.

This Men’s Health Month, challenge yourself—and the men in your life—to take one step toward better health. Small changes today can create a healthier tomorrow for future generations.
