JAKE
July 3, 2010 – April 30, 2026

Jake was a special little man and he enriched our lives greatly over the years. He was a Dachsund-Jack Russel mix and was the pick of the litter from Smiley’s. He was so small as a puppy, you could carry him in your hand. Even as he grew, he never walked up or down stairs. He figured if it worked while a puppy, we might as well keep it up the rest of his life. This added to his royal bearing and demeanor. He fast became the boss-man of our home. He knew he was special and treated our other dog, Faith, as his dog even though she was much bigger. He was so nosy and never liked being excluded from anyone. He would follow us from room to room to keep tabs on us everywhere we went. He was also a good couch buddy. He would sit beside us on the couch so he could see what was going on outside. He would then bark and run any stranger off, all while not leaving the couch. He was also a good nap buddy too. He didn’t like it when we interrupted his nap. We will miss the clickety-click sound of him coming behind us. He loved his bed, a big fluffy one. He looked like a little angel sleeping on a cloud while sleeping on his bed. Even though he was small in size, he was tremendous in heart and love. We are so very grateful to God for the blessed years He allowed us to share with him. He is missed so very much. Take care, Little Buddy, until we meet again. We love you!

The loss of a dog is an experience that transcends words. No one can understand the depth of grief that comes when a furry friend passes away. For many, a dog is more than just a pet; they are a confidant, a source of joy, and a constant companion through life’s ups and downs.

When dogs leave us, the pain is real and raw. The space they leave behind is immeasurable. It's not just the absence of their presence, but the loss of the connection that only a dog can offer. The bond formed over years of love and companionship is irreplaceable.

Grief may ease with time, but the memories remain forever. A dog’s impact on a person’s life is profound, and losing them is something that stays with us. But through the tears, we are left with love—an everlasting bond that never truly fades. 🐾💔
