🇺🇸 Take Action Today: Support H.R. 6610 🇺🇸

Tomorrow, the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform will consider H.R. 6610 – The Pharmacists Fight Back Act.

While Mississippi does not have representation on the House Oversight Committee, we can still make our voices heard by asking our Members of Congress to encourage their colleagues to support this important legislation.

H.R. 6610 represents an important step toward greater transparency and accountability in the pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) marketplace. The legislation would establish fairer reimbursement standards for participating pharmacies, address certain PBM business practices, and help ensure prescription drug savings are better reflected for patients served through the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program.

📣 Here’s how you can help TODAY:

✅ Tag your U.S. Representative in the comments.

✅ Tell them why your hometown independent pharmacy matters.

✅ Share this post to help amplify Mississippi’s voice.

Mississippi’s Congressional Delegation:

🇺🇸 Congressman Mike Ezell
🇺🇸 Congressman Michael Guest
🇺🇸 Representative Trent Kelly
🇺🇸 Congressman Bennie G. Thompson

Independent community pharmacies are more than places to fill prescriptions. They are trusted healthcare providers, small businesses, employers, and essential partners in communities across Mississippi.

Together, let’s help ensure Mississippi’s voice is heard in Washington.

Heat-related illness can be life threatening. So, it’s important to know what to look for in yourself or someone else and treat it right away.

The symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke are similar. Both are serious conditions, but in the case of a heat stroke, you need to get immediate medical attention.

Take these steps to prevent heat-related illness:

Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water. Sports drinks can replace salt and minerals lost in sweat. Avoid alcohol, high-sugar drinks, and very cold drinks.

Wear lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothing. Tight clothing doesn’t allow sweat to evaporate properly and can cause you to overheat.

Avoid outdoor activities in the hottest part of the day. Do yard work or exercise when it is coolest – in the morning and evening.

Eat cool, light food. Hot, heavy meals raise your body temperature.
