We are excited to welcome Rebecca Richard, LCSW to the Caldwell Counseling Services family. Rebecca will be seeing patients telehealth only. A little about Rebecca: She is a curious, straightforward therapist who asks a lot of questions and helps you look beneath the surface of what’s happening. Together, you will explore patterns, make connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and challenge the ways of thinking that may be keeping patients stuck.

She believes therapy should be practical and collaborative. She offers realistic solutions, asks you to consider different perspectives, and holds you accountable to the changes you want to make. She also holds firm to the concept that therapy is what you make of it, you get out what you’re willing to put in. We are excited and happy to welcome her to the team!

One of my favorite questions is, “What did you learn?” because I believe growth comes from becoming more curious about ourselves and what our experiences are trying to teach us.

This type of dilemma/situation has come up more often in therapy as ‘situationships’ and other such labels become more common-stance. However, this can also apply to friendships that have fallen apart or unhealthy repetitive family interactional dynamics.

The brain is mysterious in its complexity yet, it also shows predictability through pattern recognition creating ‘loops’ that can cause someone to be stuck in an unhealthy cycle. Disrupting the repetitive behavior is significant to truly assessing the what and why of unhealthy attachment.
