Did you know June is Cancer Survivorship Month?

At Valley Children's, our Fresno Truck Center Childhood Cancer Survivorship Program is a special group dedicated to learning more about the potential physical, emotional and other long-term side effects of cancer treatments as childhood cancer survivors grow into adulthood. Along with providing this support, this team also proudly hosts an annual scholarship awards ceremony to recognize and celebrate the many accomplishments of these patients!

We are proud to announce at this year's ceremony, we had our largest recipient class and 105 scholarships were given out! Each recipient received a $1,000 scholarship to help further their educational and vocational goals. This record-breaking number of recipients was made possible by generous donations. We thank the Fresno Truck Center, donors and our staff for making this event one to remember!

We are excited to see this program continue to grow and remain committed to supporting our remarkable survivors as they move forward and take on life’s next challenges with courage, resilience and determination 💙

Rooted in growth 🌱

Our Valley Children’s Epilepsy Support Program recently held their Paint and Picnic event where families were invited to plant seeds of hope with through our “ReTin and Reuse” program! This sustainability initiative repurposes steel tins that once held a single lab test into seed starters, giving them a new purpose far beyond the lab.

Families were able to decorate the planters, and plant seeds as a symbol of growth and healing. Thank you to our teams for cultivating these special moments for our patients and families!
