SEPTEMBER IS SU***DE PREVENTION MONTH ๐ฆ๐
I want to use my little corner of the world for something very close to my heart this month.
Once a week throughout September, Iโm going to share a message about su***de prevention, hope, checking on one another, and choosing to stay.
Because sometimes the person struggling the hardest is the person you would never expect.
They may still smile.
They may still laugh.
They may still show up for everyone else.
They may say, โIโm fine.โ
And inside, they may be fighting just to make it through another day.
So if you are reading this and life feels unbearably heavy right now, please hear me:
Stay. ๐
Stay through tonight.
Stay through the tears.
Stay through the moment that tells you nothing will ever get better.
You do not have to figure out your whole life today. Sometimes you only need to make it through the next hour. Then the next.
Please tell someone youโre hurting. Let somebody sit beside you in the darkness until you can see a little light again.
And for the rest of usโฆ
Check on your people.
Listen without judging.
Love them loudly.
Never assume someone knows how much they mean to you.
There are people walking around today who desperately need to hear three simple words:
You Are Loved! ๐
If you are struggling or in crisis in the United States, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline. You can also chat through 988lifeline.org.
Your story matters.
And your story is not finished yet. ๐ฆ
