Mother’s day can bring a lot of different feelings. 🌹

for some people, it’s joy.
for some, it’s grief.
for some, it’s longing or numbness.
For many, it's the ache of trying to hold multiple feelings at once.

Whether you’re missing your mom, grieving the relationship you wish you had, parenting while healing from what hurt you, or longing to become a parent yourself,
remember that you don’t have to force this day into something simple if it doesn’t feel simple to you.

There is room for all your feelings today,. However today hits you, we hope that you give yourself grace to move through it however you need. 💜

Some of the hardest parts when struggling with mental health are the feelings of shame that we carry while struggling, and feeling like no one else understands.

What helps change those feelings is being met with understanding instead of judgment. Being seen as a person, and not a problem to fix. 💜 🌈

This mental health awareness month, we’re holding space for the people carrying things others can’t always see.

A diagnosis is never the whole story. Every person deserves compassion, dignity, and care, especially in the moments they’re struggling most.

There’s a moment, and most parents know what it feels like. You're in the car with them, driving them to a friend's or after a sport's practice, or maybe just cleaning up the kitchen after dinner.

You feel fear out of care for them and think. . . "I should probably say something." You feel the urge to mention it.

When you feel it, say it. Waiting for the “right time” usually doesn't work because there is never a perfect time. ⏳

It doesn't have to be a lecture, it can just be “if you ever feel unsure about getting home, call me.”, or “you don’t have to figure it out alone.”, or “your safety matters more than anything.” 🚗📲

You're telling them to reach out to you when they need help. You're giving them a way out when they need it most by showing that you're a safe space for them. You're telling them no matter what, you are here for them.

If difficult conversations have been on your mind, don’t wait. There is never a "right" time. ⏰

Struggles with alcohol never look exactly the same. Sometimes it’s obvious, sometimes it’s high-functioning, and sometimes it’s something you don’t discuss at all. 😔 😄 🤐

Alcohol awareness month is about noticing patterns, understanding impact, and knowing there are places to go for support before things are unmanageable.

If you’ve been carrying questions, you don’t have to carry them alone. Our therapists are always ready to discuss alcohol use with our clients. 🛋 🗓 💜

By taking time for ourselves to reflect, we often notice the things that seem small are actually much bigger. 🧩 💜

It could be "just a glass" to take the edge off, something that involuntarily became habit, or a question you keep glossing over.

April is alcohol awareness month, but it's not about labeling or shame. It’s about noticing what feels good, what doesn’t feel good, and what parts of ourselves need attention.

If you’ve been wondering about your relationship with alcohol, you don’t have to figure it all out right now, or do it alone. You can always discuss things like these with your mental health professional. 🛋 🗓

March is National Social Work Month, and this matters deeply to us at HEART Counseling.

As a practice founded by a licensed clinical social worker, our work is rooted in the values that shape this field, including service, competence, and integrity.

We believe in the importance of human relationships, and that dignity and worth are inherent to all people. 🌍

We are deeply committed to social justice, and we are affirming and welcoming, especially for those who are often made to feel unseen, including people of color and those in the LGBTQIA+ community. 🏳️‍🌈

These aren’t just statements to us, they’re the principles that guide how we show up for you. Right now, we are living in the tension of a world that feels culturally, politically, and economically divided. In this landscape, we know it matters how care is offered.

It matters that you feel safe enough to be honest, and that your dignity is protected, not questioned. This support is at the heart of social work. 💜

This March is Women's History Month, and we are holding space for the women who have been carrying stories that the world historically hasn't made space for. 👭📕 🗓 💜

Stories of being silenced. Stories of oppression.

Women’s History Month isn’t just about the well known historical figures, it’s about the mom learning to set boundaries for the first time, the friend who is finally sticking up for herself, and the survivor who decides her story doesn’t have to stay silent anymore.

History isn’t only what happened back then. History is being made right now, every single time a woman chooses to make herself heard instead of shrinking.

Dont forget! The clocks "spring forward" one hour at 2:00 am tonight (early Sunday morning)!

Give yourself grace this week as our nervous systems adjust.

It is normal for sleep to feel off, mornings to feel more difficult, and for thinking to feel more slow. Expect that this week will feel more slow and more difficult than usual. Accept that change with kindness.

Small kindnesses go a long way when you are simply catching up. 🕰️
