Meet the Residents📸

Happy Monday! Today we are featuring a third year who can always beat our Monday blues.... Beka Mercker!

☁️Beka is the resident white cloud of this residency ☁️ Calm & chill at work, you can count on her to be incredibly competitive at resident retreat🫡 🤺
🌲🥾 She's also a hiking extraordinaire and will always bring you a homemade baked good during a rough night shift 🥲❣️

Home: Indiana 🌽

Favorite part of the program: I love how much of a home Madison has become! I’ve been able to explore , find favorite places to spend time, favorite trails to run, and great people to live and work beside. All on top of the chance to learn and practice medicine I love!

Best thing about FM: Getting to meet and treat so many different types of people! Seeing stubborn farmers, young moms, immigrants, and die hard Wisconsinites all in the same day means no two appointments are the same. 🩺

Favorite things to do in Madison: Continually finding new trails to run🏃🏼‍♀️, a post nights sunrise over Monona Bay 🌅, wandering the arboretum when the trees are in bloom 🌳 or a morning kayak on the lake 🛶

Today we're featuring our first second year... Bich-Nhi Pham!

Bich-Nhi is one of the most dependable people you could ask for; both at work and as a friend 💘. She never fails to bring joy to a situation, and you can always count on her for a delicious meal or the hardest workout of your life 😤 Our program is so lucky to have her!

Home: Lisle, Illinois 🏡

Favorite Part of the Program: Being constantly surrounded by people that I would be honored to have at my wedding and funeral 💒 🪦

Best thing about FM: The flexibility to do it all: inpatient, outpatient, delivering babies; being able to weave in and out and be a part of people’s lives and families

Favorite thing to do in Madison: any festivities on Shweta’s yellow couch (iykyk) 👯‍♀️

Next up is another stellar third year... Aidan Khoda! 💟
Arguably one of the funniest, kindest and most thoughtful people in our program, Aidan is always down to eat. No matter what.

Home: Oklahoma 🤠

Favorite part of the program: Love teaching MD residents OMT and going to brunch after our OMT labs

Best thing about FM: Being able to care for the whole person and build relationships with patients where they feel comfortable being themselves.

Favorite thing about Madison: Having hot pot and Korean BBQ with my friends at Korill Hut

Each of our continuity clinic sites offers a unique patient population, care model, and learning environment, giving our residents the opportunity to grow into well-rounded, community-focused family physicians.

🏥 Belleville Clinic – A rural training experience with broad-spectrum care and strong community connection
🌱 Rural Health Equity Track (RHET) – Focused training in advancing health equity in rural communities based out of Belleville Clinic
🌆 Northport Dr Clinic – Serving a diverse urban population with rich cultural and clinical experiences
🌿 Verona Clinic – A dynamic suburban setting with strong community partnerships and innovation in care delivery
❤️ Wingra Clinic – An FQHC setting dedicated to caring for underserved populations with integrated, team-based care
