For this week’s , we are welcoming the 2026-2027 Practice Advancement and Leadership Team!

PALT brings together first- and second-year Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership residents and residency program directors from across Wisconsin to collaborate, develop as leaders, and advance pharmacy practice.

The group recently gathered at PSW Headquarters for its first meeting of the year, which included a welcome from PSW CEO Sarah Sorum, team-building activities, and discussion about putting the 2026 PSW Strategic Plan into action.

We look forward to the ideas, leadership, and impact this year’s PALT members will bring to pharmacy practice and patient care across Wisconsin.

Back-to-school prep starts now!

With the new school year just around the corner, pharmacy teams can help Wisconsin schools prepare for medication emergencies.

Wisconsin law allows pharmacies to fill prescriptions for certain emergency medications, including glucagon, albuterol and epinephrine, in the name of a school.

Brush up on the requirements before students head back to the classroom with PSW’s Back to School Guide: www.pswi.org/Back2School

APPE Student Spotlight: Zee Huq 💚

Last week, Zee Huq from the Concordia University Wisconsin School of Pharmacy, completed her APPE rotation with PSW, contributing to projects focused on education, medication safety, and advancing pharmacy practice.

A major focus of Zee’s rotation was PSW’s Medication Misinformation Toolkit. She helped evaluate and strengthen the content, organizing the developing resource and preparing it for review by subject matter experts.

Zee also explored age-friendly pharmacy practice and resources for older adults, contributed to PSW’s Medication Safety Meet-Up, and completed projects that strengthened her skills in drug information, literature evaluation, and professional writing.

We’re grateful to have been part of Zee’s pharmacy journey and look forward to seeing where her interests, experiences, and continued growth take her next. Congratulations on completing your APPE rotation, Zee! 💚

Help your PSW region claim the 2026 WPPAC Region Competition title!

Every contribution made to the Wisconsin Pharmacy PAC in 2026 counts toward your region’s average contribution per member. The winning region will be announced on August 29 during the PSW Annual Meeting, with a special gift for attendees from that region and a full year of bragging rights.

New this year, members who begin a monthly recurring contribution will receive credit for their full 2026 commitment. For example, a $50 monthly contribution beginning in July counts as $300 toward your region’s total.

Region B won last year. Is your region ready to take the title?

Rural health care may be defined by county lines. Patients are not.

When access to care becomes limited in one community, patients travel farther for the services and health care professionals they need. These patients become our patients.

Join us at the 2026 PSW Annual Meeting for a timely panel discussion about rural health care in Wisconsin. Hear from PSW members who will share real-world experiences, practical solutions, and new approaches to improving care across communities.
