When we're doing household tasks, or stuck in traffic, or busy at work, our brains have a tendency to point out things we don't like. Instead, try to focus on what you DO like. Focus on what IS good.
For example, let's say you're washing the dishes. Focus on the smallest things that bring you joy. Maybe you got the water to the perfect temperature so it's warm but not burning your hands. Maybe you're listening to a really good podcast. Maybe your cat is rubbing against your leg.
Now, imagine you're stuck in traffic. Instead of getting frustrated about the traffic (which you can't control), focus on the beautiful things outside your car window. Can you find something beautiful? Can you see the clouds? The birds? What can you appreciate?
Switching our mindset to seeking out things we appreciate puts us in a better headspace, which can boost your mood and make it more likely you'll keep seeing things you like.
