There are lots of theories about time. According to Plato, "Time is the moving image of eternity." We're always so worried about being on time, creating time, and saving time.

But when you're floating, time doesn't really exist. You get to just be - without a clock or notifications or anything telling you to get moving. And that's kind of nice, isn't it?

It really does all come back to the breath. When we choose to breathe consciously, even for a moment, it can act as a reset during your day, calming your nervous system and allowing you to see the world from a new perspective. Even just deciding that your next three breaths are going to be deep and restorative can make a huge difference during a stressful moment.

A great mindful breath to try is called the two part sigh:
🌼 Breathe deeply into your stomach.
🌼 Breath into your chest.
🌼 Sigh it out with an audible sigh.

Repeating this sighing deep breath exercise just three times can shift your mood, give you a rush of good endorphins, and keep the stress away! Try it now!

You know how we all turn down the radio when we're driving somewhere new and need to watch for a street sign or landmark?

Floating is sort of like that.

We tune out all of the distractions so you can focus.

Focus on what?

Whatever you need to - solving a problem, relieving stress, letting go of anxiety, resting, allowing your spirit to heal.

It's the perfect place to turn down the volume and get where you want to go.

Feel all your feelings.
Experience them without judgement.

When you suppress a feeling like fear, sadness, or anxiety, it gets trapped in your body.
Give your full attention to that feeling, breathe, experience how that feeling shows up in your body, and it will move on, leaving you with a sense of peace.

Give it a try next time you float.

"Sleep that soothes away all our worries. Sleep that puts each day to rest. Sleep that relieves the weary laborer and heals hurt minds." 💤

That quote is from William Shakespeare, and while he may not have had the opportunity to visit us for a float and benefit from better sleep, we think he would have been a frequent client if we had been in his neighborhood. Lucky for you we're in yours! 😉❤️

Floating once is great. Floating twice is amazing. Floating three times is the sweet spot for a lot of folks. But creating an ongoing float practice is where the magic happens. It can be transformative.

Each time you float, you are relearning something about yourself you may have forgotten. You are getting the rest your body desperately needs, and you're giving your mind a change to relax.

What does your float practice look like?

When we're doing household tasks, or stuck in traffic, or busy at work, our brains have a tendency to point out things we don't like. Instead, try to focus on what you DO like. Focus on what IS good.

For example, let's say you're washing the dishes. Focus on the smallest things that bring you joy. Maybe you got the water to the perfect temperature so it's warm but not burning your hands. Maybe you're listening to a really good podcast. Maybe your cat is rubbing against your leg.

Now, imagine you're stuck in traffic. Instead of getting frustrated about the traffic (which you can't control), focus on the beautiful things outside your car window. Can you find something beautiful? Can you see the clouds? The birds? What can you appreciate?

Switching our mindset to seeking out things we appreciate puts us in a better headspace, which can boost your mood and make it more likely you'll keep seeing things you like.

Trust the solution. The float solution, that is!
Some folks will ask, "but HOW do you float?"
And the answer is: "Effortlessly."

You'll float. You just do. The hundreds and hundreds of pounds of salt creates a dense solution which creates buoyancy and allows you to float. It's pretty wonderful.

"Dolce far niente" is an Italian expression that translates to "the sweetness of doing nothing."
Doesn't that sound lovely? Enjoy the sweetness that comes from, well, doing nothing. Relax and feel restored. Is it time for another float? 😉
