Our Process -

We have a professional, process-oriented staff ready to serve our clients and their families. When a prospective client contacts a Senior Helpers office, they set up a complimentary initial assessment at the client’s location to discuss the client’s needs and formulate a care plan. If necessary, a staff member, Social Worker or RN (depending on the State regulations) will conduct a full nursing assessment to gauge the client’s status and clarify the care plan. They determine the most appropriate caregiver for the client using the assessment information and the caregiver matching process. Service starts on the pre-determined date. Follow-up is conducted immediately after service begins and on a periodic basis to ensure excellent care delivery.

Our thanks to Liz P for her outstanding service as a Senior Helper! 🤩🥳🎉

September 2026 Caregiver of the Month!

What is your favorite memory you have as a Senior Helper, or a funny story you remember with a client?
After working at Senior Helpers for 8 years there have been too many fun, funny, and happy times to pick just one.

How did you come to this care-giving position? What draws you to care-giving?
I came to Senior Helpers at the recommendation of of one of former employees. She worked here part time and thought I would enjoy it since I took care of my parents when they needed it.

Can you tell us more about your family? What do you do for fun/in your free time?
I have no family, only my chosen family who "adopted" me after I lost my sister.
In my free time I enjoy cooking, trying new recipes, and reading.

Any advice for our other caregivers?
My advice to new caregivers would be have patience and to always take time to listen to your client’s needs.

Healthy Aging Tip #5: Keep In Touch with Friends and Family

Social connection is one of the most powerful tools for healthy aging, and it is easy to let it slip. Reach out to a friend, neighbor, or family member you have not spoken to recently. A short conversation can lift both of your days.

Healthy Aging Tip #4: Secure Your Home

Falls are one of the most common and most preventable risks for older adults at home. Secure loose rugs, add nightlights along hallways, install grab bars in the bathroom, and keep walkways clear. Small changes make a real difference in safety and confidence.

Healthy Aging Tip #3: Eat the Rainbow

Healthy eating does not have to be complicated. Focus on variety, especially colorful fruits and vegetables that cover a wide range of nutrients. Rotate what is on your plate every few weeks and pair it with whole grains, lean protein, and low-fat dairy.

Healthy Aging Tip #2: Stay Hydrated

As we age, the body's natural thirst signal becomes less reliable, which makes it easier to become dehydrated without realizing it. Keep a water bottle within reach throughout the day. Add fruit for flavor, or set a reminder if that helps.

September is Healthy Aging Month, now in its 34th year, and it is one of our favorite times to talk about what it really means to age well. Healthy aging is not one big change. It is a series of small, intentional choices made every day.

To kick things off, we are sharing 7 tips for 7 days, one simple, actionable idea each day to help the seniors in your life thrive at home.

Healthy Aging Tip #1: Move Every Day

You do not need a gym or a structured workout to support your health. A short walk, a few gentle stretches, or a trip around the block each day can support strength, balance, and mood. Small, consistent movement adds up in a big way.

Summer doesn't have to end with a sigh. It can end with a list of things you actually did, moments you created, and memories you made.

Whatever you checked off this season, big or small, it counts. And the joy that comes from living fully doesn't stop when the temperatures drop.

Here's to carrying that energy right into fall. 🍂

We want to hear from you. What was your favorite summer bucket list moment this season? Drop it in the comments below! 👇

Today caregivers and case managers got together for our grief support group to connect with each other, remember our clients who have passed away or moved, and discuss how grief affects our lives and the care we provide. A special thank you to Katie from Brighton Hospice to talk with us about grief and the importance of caring for ourselves. We did a sand activity to talk about giving emotions colors and how our emotions mix together during our grief. We are thankful to our caregivers and office staff for all they do every day and appreciate them sharing. ❤️🎁 (some examples of our sand art)

Get to know our team! Today we introduce to you Jesse!

Jesse is the newest member of the Senior Helpers office team but is certainly not new to the Senior Helpers family! He has been with Senior Helpers for almost 7 years, previously working as a caregiver. His experience in caregiving has given him a deep appreciation for the work we do and the difference we make in the lives of our clients. Now, Jesse is excited to bring that experience to his new role as Office Assistant.

Jesse helps with client and caregiver communication, scheduling management, fielding calls to the appropriate departments, and many other tasks that help support our team.

Outside of work, Jesse enjoys working out, spending time in nature, reading, playing video games, and watching movies and shows. 🎮📚🌲Fun fact: Jesse is fluent in Spanish! He's also currently learning French and German.
