Join us for "Inside Out - Art of Medical Illustration", a fascinating exhibition of medical illustrations that showcase a wide range of artistic techniques. From detailed historical renderings to contemporary approaches, the works on view highlight the intersection of art, science, and visual storytelling.

The exhibition will be on view from June 18 through September 30, 2026. Celebrate the opening with us at a reception on June 18 from 4:30–6:30 p.m., where free Babcock Ice Cream will be served.

Reminder: Please mark your calendars for the next in-person Frontiers in Vision Research presentation. We will be visited by Dr. Krzystof Palczewski from the University of California-Irvine. Dr. Palczewski is a distinguished researcher with a specific interest in developing treatments for retinal diseases. He will be presenting at the Grand Rounds at 7 AM on Friday, May 15.

The McPherson Eye Research Institute is proud to announce the winner of our very first MERI-sponsored Sophomore Research Fellowship in vision science! This year, the MERI Research Committee selected Khushi Mitchell (Mentor: Freya Mowat) to receive the award.

Funded by our Cycle for Sight fundraising event, this sponsored fellowship provides research training and support to UW-Madison sophomore undergraduates, allowing them to undertake their own vision research project in collaboration with UW–Madison faculty or research/instructional academic staff. The Sophomore Fellow receives $3,000, and the faculty/staff research advisor receives $500 to help offset research costs.
