We were excited to welcome Tahli and her family ( and new baby sis!) back for another one week intensive last week! Tahli left a week of hard work with improved head control, better midline trunk control, stronger weight bearing through her arms, improved upright standing, and beginning to use her arms to pull herself forward — Tahli's PT intensive this week targeted the whole picture: head, trunk, and upper body function working together. Proud of her progress in just five days and her hard work!

One week into her two week DMI intensive, she stood up from the floor independently for the first time! Not assisted. And she did it over and over, just playing with her dad like it was nothing new.
This is what we see with DMI - purposeful, carefully selected exercises teach children movement patterns ( and a lot of other technical stuff). Then they go home and this is what happens! We can't wait to have one more week with this cutie and are so proud of all her hard work!

🌱 New Skill Alert: Restorative Fascial Therapy (RFT)

This June, Emily completed RFT Foundations training with Dr. Alyssa Welch of Southeast Fascial Therapy.

Emily first went to Alyssa as a patient, dealing with some pain nothing else had fully resolved. The results were strong enough that she began referring her own patients — and watched several of them see real changes too. That was enough to convince her it was time to learn RFT herself.

RFT is a gentle, hands-on approach using fascial unwinding to release tension, improve mobility, decrease pain, and support nervous system regulation — from babies to adults. It’s a whole-body lens that pairs perfectly with the work we already do at Sprout.

Meet Mary Virginia Bost, DPT — Level 1 NISE-Stim Certified!

This February, Mary Virginia completed her live Level 1 NISE-Stim training, joining our growing team expertise in this technique. We’ve used NISE-Stim for a few years now, and with two therapists Level 1 trained (Level 2 coming this year!), we’re offering it with even more depth.

For our kiddos with spina bifida and cerebral palsy, we’ve seen real results: increased strength, improved ability to assist with standing, walking with less restrictive devices, and improved spinal alignment.

Mary Virginia has taken this further, too — she’s consulted on multiple cases and helps direct how we apply NISE-Stim across our clinic. Her expertise is a big reason our patients keep progressing.

This week we're taking a moment to celebrate the continuing education our Sprout PT team has invested in over the last several months — because better-trained therapists mean better outcomes for your kids.
Kicking things off: congratulations to Katie Watkins on completing her DMI Level A training in Ocean Springs this past January! With Katie's certification, all of our physical therapists at Sprout PT are now DMI trained and TASES trained! That says a lot for the dedication of our team to help your child and we are so proud of you Katie!
