Deep tissue massage relieves severe tension in the muscle and fascia (connective tissue). Using slower, more forceful strokes, your therapist will target the deeper layers of your muscle and connective tissue. Deep tissue massage focuses on the muscles beneath the top surface muscles. Your therapist will ask you to give him or her feedback on how the massage feels.

You may feel a little sore for 24-48 hours after a deep tissue massage.
Good for: athletes, chronic pain, muscle damage from injury

Cupping is a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine that uses small “cups” and heat on the body to focus blood flow in an area. Focused blood flow helps your body by flushing built-up toxins through the lymphatic system. Cupping is a deep tissue massage, much like Gua Sha, but works deeper in your muscles and fascia.
