West AHEC would like to welcome our summer intern, Ethan Larkins. Ethan is a recent graduate from Madisonville North Hopkins High School and plans to attend the University of Kentucky this fall. He will be majoring in biology with a pre-med track. He recently set a school record and played in the elite 8 for KY High School tennis. We are so excited to have him with us this summer!

West AHEC, with the Baptist Health Deaconess Family Residency, hosted the Hopkins County Family YMCA preschool today. The students participated in “Care and Cuddle Clinic” where they checked up on some bears, read a book, learned about oral hygiene and colored. Students were able to receive their physical exam, which is mandatory for school enrollment, from providers in the residency.
We also had some great volunteers from Madisonville North Hopkins High School, James Madison Middle School and South Hopkins Middle School.

Calling all future doctors, nurses, lab scientists, and healthcare superheroes! HealthCare Heroes is an exciting summer camp adventure where students explore the amazing world of healthcare through fun, hands-on activities, interactive challenges, and real-world experiences. Campers will discover what it takes to care for others while learning about a variety of medical careers including nursing, radiologic technology, dental hygiene, medical laboratory technology, and more!

Today at HCS career signing day, Future Healthcare Explorer Abigale Greer signed her letter of intent to (continue) working for Baptist Health Deaconess Madisonville after graduation!
