Katheryn LaMuriel Sharp, lovingly known as LaMuriel and "Mowo" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026, at the age of 87.
Born on September 24, 1938, in Madisonville, TX, to Truett and Louise (Jones) Wester, LaMuriel was a lifelong Texan whose greatest joys were her faith, her family, and the simple blessings of home. She graduated from Madisonville High School and, on March 23, 1957, married the love of her life, R. Datus Sharp. Together they shared a devoted marriage until his passing.
LaMuriel embraced her calling as a homemaker, banker’s wife, mother, and grandmother. She created a home filled with love, kindness, grace, and unwavering support for those she cherished. Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with Datus, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She found joy in all the many daily excursions she and Datus enjoyed together whether it involved hunting, fishing, golf or the horse races - they were devoted to each other. She was the ultimate caretaker and loved tending to her flowers, watching the birds outside her window, and appreciating God’s beauty in nature. Her Madisonville High School yearbook described her as “An All-American girl that radiates joy,” a sentiment that remained true throughout her life. Barbara Ann Clark Henson, lovingly known to family and friends as "Gigi," entered the presence of her Savior after a life marked by unwavering faith, boundless love, and joyful service. She was born on August 29, 1931, in Hagerman, New Mexico, to Fred Holmes Clark, Sr. and Hazel Ernestine Langenegger Clark.
Born during the Great Depression, Barbara's early years were shaped by perseverance and resilience. Her family moved to the Aspermont, Texas area in search of work before eventually settling in Denison, Texas, where she spent her childhood and young adult years.
On June 18, 1949, Barbara married the love of her life, Arthur Monroe Henson. Their marriage of nearly 73 years was a beautiful testimony of love, faith, and commitment until Art's passing in May 2022.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Fred Holmes "Buddy" Clark, Jr.; her beloved husband, Arthur Monroe Henson; and her son, Fred Arthur Henson.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Marie Thames and husband Buddy; her son, David Carl Henson and wife Darlene; her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Henson; six beloved grandchildren: Paula Jeanne Russell and husband Billy; Paul Damon Thames and wife Marcie; Stefanie Erin Maslowski and husband Nick; Rebecca Carol Moutray and husband Chris; Rachel Ann Henson; Justin McClain Henson and wife D'Lynn; and eleven treasured great-grandchildren: Zane Andrew Russell, Jace William Russell, Blake Nathan Russell, Micah Ann Thames, Claire...
