Colore**al Cancer Awareness Month
ππ₯¦π« One in 24 people will be diagnosed with colore**al cancer in their lifetime. Yet, itβs one of the few cancers thatβs preventable!
A healthy diet can improve your quality of life and make it easier for your body to fight off serious illnesses like colon cancer.
***Remember, food has the power to either promote or prevent disease. All foods are either energy-giving or energy-robbing, either cleansing or constipating. Foods that support a healthy colon: Whole fruits and vegetables, nuts (such as walnuts, cashews, almonds, hazelnuts, and pecans), blueberries, and B6 (supplement or found in bananas, avocados, and potatoes). Avoid, or at the very least, limit: processed meat, high-fat foods, and red meat. Heighten your health even further by avoiding smoking to***co products, exercising regularly, limiting alcohol consumption.
β-The CDC says they donβt know why colon cancer is on the rise, but they know that these habits are associated with it: Sedentary lifestyle, excess weight and obesity, smoking, heavy alcohol use, low-fiber, high-fat diets or diets high in processed meats, and other environmental factors.
>>>Consider a screening if you experience the following symptoms: a change in bowel habits, such as more frequent diarrhea or constipation, re**al bleeding or blood in the stool, ongoing discomfort in the belly area, such as cramps, gas or pain, a feeling that the bowel doesnβt empty all the way during a bowel movement, weakness or tiredness, losing weight without trying.
