William Denny Thompson
August 13, 1952 – May 29, 2026

With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the peaceful passing of William Denny Thompson on May 29, 2026. Born on August 13, 1952, in Washington, Denny was a vibrant soul whose life was a testament to living fully and loving deeply.

He was the beloved son of the late William “Bill” Denson Thompson and Mary Alice Sever. He was predeceased by his sisters Lorrie Marker and Juliana Thompson and several other dear family members.

Denny is survived by his brother James Wesley Thompson, his seven children, grandchildren, and a large extended family of nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and close friends whose lives were touched by his warmth and humor.

A proud member of Pipeline Local Union 250, Denny worked as a dedicated pipe fitter in California before retiring and returning home to Mississippi. He was a faithful member of Kennedy Springs Baptist Church and found great joy in the outdoors — hunting, fishing, and gardening. He especially treasured time spent with his family, and nothing brought a bigger smile to his face than watching Everly and Mason grow.

Above all, Denny will be remembered for his booming laughter, quick wit, and big heart. Though he loved to tease and joke, he was fiercely loyal and caring. He never missed an opportunity to call his daughters, checking in with them often, sharing stories and reminding them how much they were loved. The world feels a little quieter without his voice, but his spirit and laughter will live on in everyone who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 3,2026, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. Celebration of Life Services will be held Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. Burial will follow Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Wade Mathis will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent via Cash App to $dallasjuliana.
Denny will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on through all the lives he touched. May we honor him by living with the same joy, love, and mischief he brought into the world.

Virginia “Mama G” Cauthen Bynum, age 60, passed away on May 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of the family she cherished so deeply throughout her life and leaving behind a family, friends, and community who loved her and will forever carry with them the warmth, kindness, and joy she brought into their lives.

A Visitation will be held Thursday May 21, 2026 from 6 PM to 9 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee, MS. A Funeral service will be held Friday May 22, 2026 at New Life Pentecostal Church in Taylorsville, MS. Burial will follow in Fellowship Cemetery in Taylorsville, MS. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Virginia is survived by her loving husband, Billy Glenn Bynum; her parents, Tommy and Carolyn Cauthen; her mother in law, Bobbie Bynum; her children, Matthew Bynum and Buddy Bynum and wife Danielle Bynum; her cherished grandchildren, Brayden Thomas, Losson Grady, Brysen Trace, Braylea Taylor, Hallie Summer, Brynen Larry, Braelyn Estelle, Oakleigh Rae, William Daniel, Indy Angela, Ada-Jean Virginia, Avery, and Graham; her siblings, Mike Cauthen, Angie Williams, Richie Cauthen, and Lisa Cauthen; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Bill Bynum; brother-in-law, Larry Bynum; grandparents, Elmer and Gertrude Craft; and first cousin, Melissa Wade.

Born on February 17, 1966, Virginia was known lovingly by many as “Mama G,” a name that perfectly reflected the comfort, love, and care she gave so freely to everyone around her. She was selfless by nature, gentle in spirit, and always the first person to show up when someone she loved was hurting or in need. No matter the circumstance — big or small — Mama G had a remarkable way of knowing exactly when she was needed, and she never hesitated to offer help, encouragement, or simply a listening ear.
Her greatest love in life was her family. Virginia adored her two boys and, no matter how grown they became, she never stopped seeing them as her babies. She poured her heart into creating special memories for those she loved, especially during the holidays. Christmas at Mama G’s house was nothing short of magical. To her grandchildren, it often seemed as though Santa brought just as much — if not more — to her home than anywhere else. It was never because she had an abundance of money, but because she possessed an abundance of love. Throughout the year, she carefully and thoughtfully searched for bargains, planned ahead, and sacrificed quietly so that every birthday, holiday, and celebration would feel special and unforgettable for her family.

Virginia shared a beautiful and devoted marriage with her husband, Billy Glenn Bynum. The bond they shared was evident to everyone who knew them. Even when apart, they were almost always on the phone together — a reflection of the deep friendship, loyalty, and enduring love they carried throughout their life together. Through every season of life, they stood side by side, supporting one another with constant love and devotion. Their marriage was built on laughter, faith, companionship, and a closeness that never faded with time. Anyone who spent time around them could quickly see that they were not only husband and wife, but truly best friends.

Some of Virginia’s greatest joys came from simply being present for the people she loved. She treasured time spent with family, cheering enthusiastically from the stands at her grandchildren’s ballgames, attending Christian concerts, teaching Sunday school, serving others in her community, and caring for her chickens so she could share fresh eggs with family, friends, and neighbors. She found true happiness in giving to others, and she had a rare gift for making every person around her feel important, valued, and deeply loved.

Mrs Bynum was a dedicated member of New Life Pentecostal Church in Taylorsville, Ms.

Virginia’s legacy is one of unwavering love, generosity, faith, and devotion to family. The memories she created, the kindness she extended, and the lives she touched will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Though she will be profoundly missed, the love she gave so freely will remain a lasting comfort to those she leaves behind.
