Russell Glenn Cooley, age 73, of Shepherdsville, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2026, at University of Louisville South Hospital in Brooks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Christopher Columbus and Nellie Slusser Coolie; a sister, Delores; three brothers, Kenny, Walter and Charles.

Russell is survived by his wife Shelia Wolford Cooley; four nieces, Debbie, Laura, Sheryl and Jennifer; a nephew, Alan; several great nieces and great nephews; a sister in law, Holly (Kenny) Milburn and a brother in law, Robbie (Linda) Wolford.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, May 31, at Dixon-Rogers funeral home in Magnolia with Bro. James Crim officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

David Meredith Watterson, age 70, of the Pikeview Community, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.

He was preceded in death by his loving life partner and companion, Linda Sue Jones; his parents, Jack Meredith and Mary Lee McAleer Watterson and a brother-in-law, Karl Barth.

David is survived by three siblings, Teresa Barth, Michael (Gayle) Watterson and Patti (Steve) Guy and six nieces and nephews, Karl Barth, Jr., Cindy Clegg, Sami Jo Rezzo, Sarah Watterson, Nathan Guy and Jason Guy.

He was cremated and a private service will be held at a later date.

Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia is assisting the family with arrangements.

Betty Gibson, age 94, of Vero Beach Florida, formerly of Magnolia, passed away, Thursday, May 7, 2026, in Vero Beach Florida.

She was a retired travel agent and a member of First Church of God in Vero Beach.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Marieta Bonnicmp Oxley and a siter, Diane Gibson.

She is survived by two sons, Larry and Ernest Gibson; four grandchildren and several great and great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 15, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Magnolia.

TSGT (Ret.) Donald Edward Hall, age 84, of Magnolia, passed away Monday, May 4, 2026, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.

He was a retired Technical Sergeant in the United States Air Force after 24 years of service, serving as a Weather Technician.

TSGT Hall was preceded in death by his wife, Florine Barnes Hall; his parents, Joseph Rudolph and Mary Margaret McQue Hall; a grandson, Nathaniel Lee “Nathan” Hall and a brother, Michael Joseph “Mick” Hall, Sr.

He is survived by three sons, Patrick Duane (Joyce) Hall, Timothy Michael (Aenna) Hall and Sean Christopher (Renee) Hall; three grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff with Father Peter Bucalo officiating.

Eva Mae Lawson, age 83, of Magnolia, passed Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN.

She was a member of Three Forks Bacon Creek Baptist Church, retired from Nationwide Uniform Company after 23 years and an avid seamstress.

Eva was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Clyde W. “Wilkie” Lawson; a son, Steve Lawson; her parents, Roy and Mary Alice Ard Cruse; two brothers, Manley Cruse and Ed Cruse.

She is survived by a daughter, Sherry (Ron) Knox of Henryville, IN; four grandchildren, Kristy (Brandon) Bischoff, Allison (Michael) Willen, Zachary (Scott) Knox and Kelly Knox; three great-grandchildren, Easton, Sammy and Ellie Mae Willen; and a sister, Vivian Coffman of Shepherdsville.

Funeral services will held at 11 a.m. (ET), Monday, May 4, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Brother Gary Talley officiating. She will be buried alongside her husband in Hammonsville Cemetery.

Carole June Bailey Vaughn, age 81, of Brownville, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026, at her residence.

She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church #1 in Hart County and owned and operated June’s Beauty Salon in Jonesville for over 51 years.

June was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Vaughn; a son, Mitchell Wells and her parents, Herman and Naomi Skaggs Bailey.

She is survived by a son, Eric (Diane) Wells of Brownsville; two brothers, Ken (Glenda) Bailey of Bonnieville and Keith Bailey of Buffalo; three grandchildren, Jessica, Ethan (Alexus) and Tyler (Megan) Wells; four great-grandchildren, Aiden, Alyssa, Collin and Lottie Jo; several nieces and nephews and numerous double cousins and other family.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon (ET), Saturday, May 2, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia. Burial will follow next to her loving husband in Friendship #1 Church Cemetery.

Oakley Franklin “Frank” Belden Jr. passed away, Monday, April 20, 2026, at his residence in Magnolia.

He was an avid c**n hunter and outdoorsman, a deacon at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church for many years, a proud member and former member of the National Plott Hound Association, a big part of the Emmaus community. He also took great joy in serving his community as Santa Clause for many years.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Pat Belden; his parents, Oakley Franklin Belden Sr. and Mildred Lyles and a sister, Donna Lyles.

He is survived by two sons, Matt Belden and Josh Belden; five grandchildren, Hayden Belden, Mallory (Kayden Miller) Belden, Blake (Whitney) Belden, Callie (Ian) Heaton, Branden (Liz) Triplett; one great grandchild, Lucy Belden; three brothers, Vance Belden, Mark Belden and Lee Lyles.

Carol Andrews, age 70, of Hodgenville, passed away, Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Baptist Health Louisville Hospice.
She was a loving and caring person that would do anything for anyone and loved to care for others. She enjoyed life and had no regrets. Rollie held a very special place in her with love that was truly unconditional.

Carol was preceded in death by her special life companion, Rollie Thompson; her parents, Turner Miles and Sadie Brewer Stillwell; three sisters, Linda Stillwell, Louise Roundtree and Pat Stillwell; five brothers, J.T., Marshall, J.C., Dewey and Monroe Stillwell.
She is survived by three sons, Jeremy Andrews of Hodgenville, Jason Andrews of Hodgenville and Joey (Sarah) Andrews of Louisville; a step son, Rowland (Aelena) Thompson of Magnolia; a step daughter, Pennie (Tom) Akin of Greensburg; a sisters, Marcie Weller of Magnolia and two brothers, Roger (Pat) Stillwell and Harlan (Wilma) Stillwell all of Hodgenville.

Delois “Jean” (Dye) Gaddie, 85, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 11, 2026.

Jean retired as a manager from Comcast Cable Company in Elizabethtown, where she was known for her strong leadership and kind spirit. Outside of work, her greatest joy was caring for her family. She expressed her love through home-cooked meals, always making sure no one left her table hungry. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, laughter, and togetherness.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents Damon Roscoe and Bessie Lee Murray Dye; two brothers DeWayne and Ronnie Dye; and a sister Gloria June Talley.

She is survived by her husband, Donnie Gene Gaddie; a son Barry (Cathy) Gaddie of Birmingham, Alabama; a daughter LaDonna (Ken) Dozer of Elizabethtown; her grandchildren, Rod Gaddie, Ben Gaddie, Ryan Dozer, and Peyton (Conor) Lineberger; a sister, Linda (David) Cross of Tennessee; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Dye of Florida; a brother-in-law, Leon Davis of Campbellsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. (EST) Wednesday, April 15, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with Bro. Steve Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Timberlake Cemetery in Munfordville.

Harold Waite Ard, passed away on February 24, 2026, in Portland, Oregon, at the age of 84.

Harold was born on February 27, 1941, in rural Hart County, Kentucky to James Waite Ard and Mary Highbaugh Ard. He attended a one-room schoolhouse in Hart County until the 2nd grade before attending Hart Memorial School. He was a member of Three Forks Bacon Creek Baptist Church. After graduating from Hart County High in 1959, he attended the University of Kentucky and Western Kentucky University.

In 1962, he married Frances Taylor starting a bond that lasted until Fran’s death in 2024.

Soon after marrying Fran in 1962 Harold found a job at Nationwide Uniform moving sewing machinery into a new facility. He quickly proved to be a capable hand and worked his way into management. Harold worked in the apparel business for the next 33 years.

Harold’s career took him, Fran and their three sons across the country. They moved several times, spending many years in Ga***rd, MN; Schuylkill Haven, PA; Galion, OH; Tupelo, MS and Portland, OR. In 1992 they lived in Suez, Egypt where Harold started up a new factory. They made friends and deep connections wherever they went.

After retirement, Harold devoted much of his time and energy to the 12 step/recovery community. He hoped that by sharing his experiences with alcoholism he could help others with their struggles. Two months before his passing, Harold celebrated his fiftieth year of sobriety.

Harold is survived by his son Tony Ard (Lisa) of Portland, OR; his son Daniel Ard of Nashville, TN; his daughter-in-law Beth Brdlik of Portland, OR; his siblings Evelyn Garrison and Anna Dixon-Skidmore and grandchildren Holden, Molly, Riley, Veronica, Juliette, and Madeleine.

He was preceded in death by his wife Fran Ard; his son Jonathan Ard and his sister, Nellie Chelf.

A small family funeral service was held at Springer & Son in Aloha, OR on March 7.

Memorial services will be held at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia, KY at 12 noon (ET) on April 18. Graveside services will follow in Hammonsville Cemetery.

Memorial visitation begins at 11 a.m. (ET) Saturday at the funeral home.
