A secure relationship doesn’t start intensy and finish quickly.

It builds slowly with consistency.

You don’t feel high one day and ignored the next.
You don’t need to chase to feel close.
You can say how you feel and it doesn’t push them away.

When there’s tension, it gets talked about.
When there’s hurt, it gets repaired.
Both take ownership instead of turning cold or defensive.

You stop second guessing every word.
You stop waiting for the other shoe to drop.
You start to relax into being cared for.

It’s not built on charm or chemistry.

It’s built on safety, honesty, and follow through.

That’s what a secure connection feels like.

Have you ever experienced a secure connection?

Trauma can change your brain in ways that keep you stuck in survival mode: hypervigilance, anxiety, emotional flashbacks.

But there's good news: the brain is also capable of healing and change.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) helps make that possible. By targeting negative images and negative sensations which calm the amygdala, and using your brain's own process of memory reconsolidation, ART may help the facts remain while the emotional charge dissolves. New, safe imagery replaces old fears. Overthinking quiets down. Your nervous system learns what it feels like to settle. Reconsolidation means the brain can interrupt negative thoughts and behaviors so new, positive perspectives take the focus.

Your story stays the same. What changes is how your brain and body carry it, until resilience feels natural instead of forced.

There are many benefits to a good cry, one being parasympathetic nervous system activation, which helps calm your heart rate and breathing.

People tend to cry when they’re overwhelmed or upset, but it turns out doing so is actually a self-soothing behavior that can decrease stress and improve mood.

This comes up so often with my clients and can be very difficult to accept as it becomes abandonment by both parents. When this dynamic is understood, healing and understanding can begin.

When we base our self-worth on performance and external validation, the bar of acceptance can be moved to any point they choose, leaving us questioning if we are good enough. Base your self-worth on internal validation and being the best YOU
