After I had a back injury in 2000, the only relief I had was from acupuncture treatments. I had two weeks of pain just from breathing. I decided to try acupuncture because pain medication my doctors were giving me wasn’t helping me get well. I had two weeks of acupuncture treatments that gave me tremendous relief and eventually freed me from pain completely. My husband had back surgery in 2004. He

had abnormal tissue growth on his spine. Despite 3 operations, it left him with severe pain and muscle spasms. Acupuncture is one of very few things that continues to give him relief from his ongoing pain and discomfort. Through my own family experiences, I wanted to understand the healing properties of acupuncture and Oriental medicine. Knowing how it helped my family, I decided to give back to my community by offering families acupuncture treatments to get pain relief without medication. Deciding to become an acupuncturist has become my greatest gift because I see so many patients get the relief to live a happy and healthy life again. I get to contribute to the health and happiness of individuals, in the past, in my Oregon practice and now here in my practice on Maui. www.MauiKidsAcupuncture.com

I got my degree from University of Oregon with a degree in Educational Studies with specialty in Family and Community Services. I then earned Masters of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAOM) from Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. I specialize in pediatrics, mental-emotional, and pain management. I realized that Chinese medicine has its strength in preventing and healing ailments from root causes. Chinese medicine's holistic approach is much gentler and less invasive to your body. I am here to assist you and your family to live life in full health, both physically and mentally. I am committed to safe and compassionate care that guides you back to a happy and healthy life, once again. What can you do to keep your keiki happy and healthy this school year? If you don’t want to see them suffer from lingering cough, runny nose, ear infection, fever and cold, please consider bringing them in for immune boosting treatment. I see many sick kids in the falls every year. I keep reminding the parents to bring them in before or beginning of the school year, so that we can PREVENT them from getting sick instead of intervening. As you can guess, it’s much easier to prevent illness than getting rid of illness. This is the beauty of this medicine. You DO NOT have to have any symptoms to come see me. In my humble opinion, prevention is the best medicine. No parents want to see their kids suffer from sickness.
