I put this carousel together a few days ago as we were moving our eldest daughter back to college for her final semester. She’s been pretty open about her journey (more on this below) and was fully okay with me sharing.
You can read more at ED Recovery Reality , but suffice to say, she took a pause to focus on herself.
And as I was putting this together, I realized that we share this in common.
If you’ve been following along, you know that I’m also in the middle of a pause. I’m stepping back and waiting to see where life takes me. Not easy, but life isn’t always so... as they say, linear?
This story actually pertains to all of us. We think life should be linear. That we go from A to B to C and keep moving forward. But soon enough, we find out that’s just not how life works. And that’s okay.
So to the senior in high school or college who doesn’t know what’s next... that’s okay.
To the one who is unemployed and isn’t sure which direction to go... that’s okay.
To the person whose relationship has changed and the future feels unclear... that’s okay.
It’s comforting to have life planned out and think we know what’s coming next.
But the reality is, life hands us these pauses. And I’m not gonna lie, they can be uncomfortable…which in turn often means growth.
I love that we’re both learning that not knowing what’s next doesn’t mean we’re doing something wrong.
