🌼 Congratulations to Jessica Patterson, director of Patient Experience and Quality, recipient of the DAISY Leadership Award!

Nominated by Sara Paige, RN, Jessica was recognized for an extraordinary act of kindness. When a patient being discharged from the Emergency Department needed shoes on a cold day, Jessica quietly gave the patient the shoes off her own feet.

As Sara shared in her nomination, Jessica's actions reflected "selflessness, humbly serving others by putting someone else's needs before her own."

Thank you, Jessica, for embodying the compassion and caring at the heart of our mission. 💛

Summer is here and with it so many ways to find joy in movement!

This is true for patients across the cancer continuum and it’s why doctors frequently recommend regular exercise to patients. Research shows that physical activity can boost energy, reduce fatigue, and support mental health through every stage of the cancer journey. That’s why many oncology teams encourage patients to find gentle, enjoyable ways to stay active.

Integrative Oncology Health & Wellness Coach Jessica Coleman of The University of Vermont Cancer Center reminds us that movement doesn’t have to be a workout to be meaningful. When it feels joyful, we’re more likely to keep going and that consistency can make a real difference for cancer patients and survivors.
