Here’s a photo from an acupuncture treatment for sinus issues and upper back pain.

In acupuncture, we don’t always needle the areas where symptoms are felt. The style I primarily practice is often called distal acupuncture, where most of the needles are placed on the arms and legs to help the body restore balance and relieve pain.

🌿 What Is Chinese Herbal Medicine? 🌿
Long before modern pharmaceuticals existed, cultures relied on herbal medicine—and Chinese Medicine has been refining it for thousands of years.
Originally, single herbs were used for single symptoms. But about 2,500 years ago, practitioners began creating formulas—carefully balanced combinations of herbs that treat patterns of symptoms, not just one issue. This means treatment is truly personalized.
✨ Ten people might all have insomnia, yet each could receive a completely different formula.
One person may have trouble falling asleep with back pain and constipation… another might wake often with anxiety and loose stool. Same condition, totally different treatments.
Herbal formulas are designed to be effective, gentle, and safe for long-term use. Many have been refined over generations and work beautifully alongside acupuncture—helping strengthen and accelerate results.
🌱 How Treatment Works with Ira Wahrman, L.Ac.
✔️ Book an herbal consultation
✔️ Complete a detailed health history
✔️ Discuss symptoms, sleep, digestion, emotions & more
✔️ Pulse & tongue diagnosis
✔️ Receive a customized formula
✔️ Follow-ups to adjust herbs as your health improves
Every person is unique—your herbal formula should be too.

Many patients ask if I get acupuncture—and the answer is yes! While I usually rely on diet, lifestyle adjustments, and my qigong practice for regular self-care, today I decided to treat myself with acupuncture.
I used two of my favorite lung-supporting points: Double Son and Double Immortal. These points are fantastic for coughs, lung conditions, seasonal respiratory issues, and upper back tension. The results are always powerful, even when I’m the one on the table!
If you’re dealing with cough, congestion, or stubborn upper back discomfort, acupuncture can offer real relief.
Book a session and experience the difference yourself. 🙌✨
