Summer 2026 began as a quiet pause from clinical care—a deliberate slowing down to savor unhurried mornings and enjoy the sunshine with my three little girls at home for summer.
Then I was asked to join an expert panel for a congressional briefing on “Sexual Health: A Public Health Priority”… it feels truly unreal that I will be speaking before Congress to discuss important, urgent and meaningful topics which I am deeply passionate about.
Preparation over the past few weeks has immersed me in the critical landscape of policy surrounding women’s and maternal health—and the incredible gaps that persist. Across every stage of the lifespan, from your first menstruation to menopause, women are navigating their health in the dark, failed by a system lacking the comprehensive education and institutional support they deserve.
While my roots remain in hands-on clinical care, this chapter has ignited an unwavering dedication to policy and women’s health advocacy. My ultimate vision is clear: to help build a world where women do not merely exist, but thrive and claim their power.
Speaking in front of Congress at Capitol Hill wasn’t on the agenda for me this summer, but damn it is going to be pivotal. 💪🏼❤️
