“The radiologist who read this X-ray recommends a CT to further evaluate a suspected sacral fracture. Is that not enough for you to approve it?”
“Apparently not.”
🤯 READ THAT AGAIN.
A radiologist sees a possible fracture and recommends further imaging.
The doctor orders it.
Insurance says no.
Apparently, the people who examined the patient and interpreted the imaging still aren’t qualified to decide what the patient needs.
But the insurance company is.
This is what’s broken about healthcare in America.
And unfortunately, 2027 looks like it’s going to be even worse.
Higher insurance costs. Lower physician reimbursement. More out-of-pocket expenses for patients.
Meanwhile, doctors are spending hours fighting insurance companies instead of treating patients.
This isn’t healthcare. It’s a business model.
And the patient is the one paying for it.
