Manassas Park CERT Manassas Park CERT educates individuals about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact NoVA and trains them in basic disaster response skills.

Supporting the communities of Manassas Park, Signal Hill, Blooms Mill, Roseberry, and Yorkshire. CERT is about readiness, people helping people, rescuer safety and doing the greatest good for the greatest number. CERT is a positive and realistic approach to emergency and disaster situations where citizens will be initially on their own and their actions can make a difference. Through training, cit

izens can manage utilities and put out small fires; treat potential fatalities by opening airways, controlling bleeding, and treating for shock; provide basic medical aid; search for and rescue victims safely and organize themselves and spontaneous volunteers to be effective. A few showers are currently moving through the western portions of the region as a warm front pushes through. Lows will be in the mid-to-upper 60s tonight as humidity begins to increase over the next several days. Daily thunderstorm chances start tomorrow afternoon as low pressure tracks eastward.

TUESDAY JUNE 9, 2026: There is a chance of t-storms west of I-81. Otherwise, more clouds than sun and increasing humidity. Much hotter and more humid by mid-week with increased thunderstorm chances.

Dry conditions and seasonable warmth are expected to start off the work week. Hot and humid conditions along with daily showers and thunderstorms return to the forecast Wednesday through the end of the week. The hottest conditions are most likely Thursday and Friday when peak heat indices could reach between 100 to 105º F.

Warm temps this evening in the 80s to low 90s will steadily drop to the upper 50s to 60s overnight. Dry conditions expected.

A cold front crosses the area today bringing some showers and thunderstorms to parts of central Virginia to southern Maryland. Hot temperatures continue this afternoon, then seasonable temperatures in the low to mid 80s are expected for the start of the work week. Dry conditions are expected Monday and Tuesday.
