This patient was referred in January 2026 with 20/40 vision. A ForeseeHome alert followed on April 16, and wet AMD conversion was diagnosed with vision at 20/50.

With the patient’s next routine visit potentially still months away, this case highlights the value of monitoring between scheduled appointments and giving physicians additional information to evaluate meaningful changes as they occur.

💉What happens between the office visits for a neovascular AMD patient on long-acting treatments? 💉

Here is what Home OCT shows us in case of 76 yr old male with a port delivery system (PDS) implant in the left eye. Quick resolution of intraretinal fluid after refill, complete absence of macular fluid for several months, followed by recurrence. The subsequent refill again results in full fluid resolution. First refill Feb 22, 2023; second refill Dec 01, 2023.

Congratulations to Michael Grassi, MD, and the Grassi Retina team on a great ForeseeHome catch.

This patient was referred for monitoring in June 2025 and generated a ForeseeHome alert April 2026. Just two days later, the patient was seen by Dr. Grassi and diagnosed with wet AMD while vision remained excellent at 20/25-2.

Dr. Grassi’s clinical note recognized the value of ForeseeHome in helping bring the patient back for timely evaluation following the alert.

The American Society of Retina Specialists Annual Meeting was an impressive gathering of people and ideas advancing retinal care for millions of patients worldwide. Congratulations to ASRS President Dr. Geoffrey Emerson, Program Chair Dr. Nina Berrocal, and the entire team on a successful meeting.
Dr. Anat Loewenstein presented results from her study evaluating longitudinal AI-based Home OCT data against annotations from expert graders. The discussion reflected growing interest in Home OCT monitoring, particularly as longer-acting treatments create a greater need to understand what is happening between office visits.

Congratulations to Whitney Boling, MD, Taylor Kersey, COA and the Boling Vision Center team for catching a patient’s wet AMD conversion with ForeseeHome!

This patient was referred in October 2025 with 20/20 vision and alerted in March 2026. At a follow-up visit a few days later, Dr. Boling diagnosed wet AMD while the patient’s vision remained an excellent 20/25.

The patient's consistent participation in home monitoring helped identify a meaningful change between office visits, allowing for timely clinical evaluation while visual acuity was still good.

The future of retinal care isn't just about longer-lasting therapies, it's also about better data between office visits.

A newly published peer-reviewed study in Medicina MDPI demonstrates that Home OCT monitoring can serve as a safety net for patients with neovascular AMD receiving standard care.

Key findings:
• 65% of treatment intervals showed persistent or recurrent retinal fluid before the next scheduled office visit.
• Disease activity was detected an average of 32 days earlier than the next routine visit.
• Nearly 70% of these intervals had the potential for an earlier clinical evaluation within currently labeled treatment intervals.

For retina specialists, this means greater confidence that disease reactivation won't go unnoticed between visits.

For pharmaceutical innovators developing long-acting anti-VEGF therapies and gene therapies, it highlights an important opportunity: treatment durability delivers its greatest value when paired with continuous disease surveillance.

The publication further reinforces that the Home OCT monitoring program complements, not replaces, standard retinal care by providing physicians with objective structural retinal information between office visits, enabling timely clinical evaluation when disease activity returns.

As therapies become more durable, monitoring should become more continuous.

The publication adds to the growing body of evidence supporting Home OCT monitoring and should help advance payer coverage, ensuring that patients who can benefit from this technology have access to the care they need.

Congratulations to David Dao, MD and the Elman Retina Group, P.A. team for catching a patient’s wet AMD conversion with ForeseeHome!

This patient was referred in June 2025 with 20/20 vision and was an excellent ForeseeHome tester. After a ForeseeHome alert in March 2026, the patient was seen by Dr. Dao the next day, diagnosed, and promptly treated while vision was still 20/30.

A textbook catch case like this reflects the value of consistent home monitoring, timely follow-up, and a care team ready to act when meaningful changes are identified.

Another great Clinical Trials at the Summit is in the books!

Prof. Anat Loewenstein delivered an excellent presentation on the future of care for patients with neovascular AMD, including the arrival of long-acting treatments and the growing role of home OCT-based monitoring.

Her presentation also underscored how home OCT may support clinical trials for upcoming therapies by providing more frequent insight into disease activity between office visits.
