🚨 :"What happened?"
🐱 : "I thought he was a snack."

Today's patient arrived after deciding that Pokey from the Gumby cartoon looked less like a toy and more like an appetizer. Thankfully, our team was able to help, and this four-legged critic is doing well!

Reminder: Cats don't always make the best decisions when it comes to what belongs in their stomachs. If your pet swallows a toy, clothing, rocks, socks, or their favorite clay-animation sidekick, contact your veterinarian right away.

No Pokeys were harmed in the making of this ER visit... well, except this one. 😅

This week, we’re celebrating the incredible veterinary assistants who help keep our ER running 24/7, 365 days a year. 💙

From comforting scared pets and supporting critical patients to helping our doctors and veterinary nurses through the busiest shifts, our veterinary assistants are at the heart of everything we do. They’re always one step ahead, anticipating what’s needed before anyone even has to ask — and our veterinary nurses simply couldn’t do their jobs without them.

Their compassion, teamwork, and dedication never stop — not on nights, weekends, or holidays.

Thank you for the countless things you do behind the scenes and on the front lines for our patients every single day. Happy National Veterinary Assistant Week! 🐾

Meet Odin 🐾

Odin came into our ER Wednesday night after his family suspected he may have swallowed a hard ball about the size of a kiwi. The tricky part? He wasn’t showing any symptoms at all.

We induced vomiting and only recovered a small piece of a multicolored ball. When we showed it to his family, they said it wasn’t even the object they were worried about… and that he likely swallowed it days earlier. 😳

X-rays quickly revealed that Odin’s stomach was FULL of foreign material, making surgery the safest next step.

What we removed from his stomach was impressive— and somehow, none of it was the original item his family thought he ate. Even better? Several of the objects had never even been seen before by his owners 😳 Quite the sneaky boy!

Despite his scavenger adventures, Odin was the sweetest 1.5-year-old boy through it all, and we’re so happy we could help get him back on the road to recovery. 💙

Foreign body ingestions can happen fast, and pets don’t always show symptoms right away. If you suspect your pet may have eaten something unusual, it’s always best to get them checked.

This week we celebrae them—the ones who show up with patience, empathy, and a whole lot of care, every single day. 💙

It can be difficult to comprehend the magnitude of importance or significance of this critical role in our day to day operations and beyond!

This graphic does an wonderful job of peeling back the layers of veterinary receptionists, but it can't effectively communicate how much we value, respect, appreciate, and love our team!

We're so grateful for all of you and all that you do. 💜

They’re the first voice you hear and the first face you see—and often the steady calm in the middle of stressful moments.

Our veterinary receptionists do so much more than answer phones and schedule appointments. They comfort worried pet parents, juggle a fast-paced schedule, keep the hospital running smoothly, and handle every situation with empathy and professionalism.

From managing the daily flow to supporting clients during some of their hardest days, they truly are the backbone of our team. We are so grateful for everything you do, today and every day 💙🐾

Some bunny is on ER duty 🐰💉

Between the floppy ears and those big puppy eyes, we’re diagnosing a serious case of “too cute to handle.”

Don’t worry—our Easter patient is stable, snuggled, and accepting treats as part of the treatment plan.

Whether it’s chocolate mishaps, mystery snacks, or just a little too much holiday excitement, our ER team is here for your pets 24/7—holidays included.

Happy Easter from all of us (and our honorary bunny 🐶🐰💗)
