International Infection Prevention Week is a global initiative running until October 25 to raise awareness about the critical importance of infection prevention.
Infection is the single likeliest cause of delayed healing in chronic wounds. If neglected, it may escalate to systemic infection or sepsis, which can be life-threatening. Infections can also trigger heavy exudate levels.
