Get to Know MMA President Minda Gold, MD, FAAFP

An independent family physician in Damariscotta, Dr. Gold has practiced medicine in Maine for more than 30 years, caring for generations of families and building lasting relationships with patients in her community.

Earlier this month, Dr. Gold was inaugurated as MMA President during the 2026 Maine Medicine Educational Summit in Bar Harbor.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Gold enjoys kayaking, hiking, sailing, playing music, and spending time with family, friends, and her golden retriever, Tatanka.

Last week, Maine’s health care community came together for the second annual Gather for Change: A Clinician Happy Hour with Purpose.

It was a great opportunity to strengthen connections and discuss advocacy priorities as we prepare for the upcoming legislative session.

We’re grateful to partner with the Maine Academy of Physician Associates - MEAPA, Maine Osteopathic Association, Maine Nurse Practitioner Association, and Maine Primary Care Association to bring our communities together around issues affecting health care professionals and patients across Maine.

Registration closes this Friday for the 2026 Maine Medicine Educational Summit!

Join us October 2-4 in Bar Harbor for a weekend of continuing medical education, connection with colleagues, and timely programming relevant to medicine and practice today.

Attendees can earn up to 8.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits and 8.50 Live AAFP Prescribed Credits while exploring topics including AI, Alzheimer’s disease, vaccines, healthy aging, pediatrics, neurology, immigrant and asylum medicine, and more.

Join us Saturday, October 3, at the Maine Medicine Educational Summit for a nonpartisan forum featuring gubernatorial candidates Rick Bennett, Bobby Charles, and Hannah Pingree.

Hear from candidates about their perspectives on health care in Maine, including access to care, the needs of rural and aging populations, and the future of Maine’s health care system.
