Let's address the elephant in the room... 😂

If I help women restore healthier hair.....then why doesn't my husband have a full head of hair?

The truth is, I can't care more about someone's health than they do.

He knows what I would recommend.

He knows how I feel about protein, vegetables, sleep, stress, and yes... maybe cutting back on the peanut M&M's and marshmallow fluff. 😄

But after almost 25 years of marriage, I've learned something...

You can't force someone to change.

They have to decide they're ready.

That's one of the reasons I absolutely love working with women in midlife.

Many of them come to me after spending years taking care of everyone else.

They've reached a point where they finally say:

"I'm ready to invest in me."

They're willing to learn.

They're willing to make changes.

They're willing to stay consistent.

And that's when incredible things begin to happen, not just with their hair, but with their energy, confidence, and overall health.

(For the record... I still love him, even if devil dogs occasionally win. ❤️)

Now tell me...

Who's the stubborn one in your family when it comes to making healthier choices? 😂

Meanwhile... at my house... 😂

Myles has absolutely mastered the art of self-care!

No deadlines.

No meal prep.

No laundry.

No stress.

Just naps... tongue out and all... without a single care in the world. 🤣

Honestly, I think we could all learn something from him.

Happy Sunday! ❤️

Just a reminder it's okay to have a rest day. It's good for your health, your mind and your hair!

Who dreams of being this knocked out? 😴

"I thought this was just part of getting older."

Those are words I hear all the time.

For many women, hair doesn't change overnight.

It happens slowly.

A little more scalp showing.

A little more hair in the shower.

A ponytail that feels thinner.

You try a new shampoo.

A supplement.

A serum that promises thicker hair.

You hope this one will finally be the answer.

This client's journey is a reminder that healthy hair isn't built overnight but it can improve with the right support and consistency.

One of my favorite parts of my work is putting these before-and-after photos side by side.

Not because they show perfection.

But because they show progress.

And progress brings hope.

If you've been quietly wondering whether your hair can improve, I want you to know that you don't have to figure it out alone.

✨ Every hair journey begins with understanding where you are today.

I'd love to know...

What's been the biggest change you've noticed in your hair over the last few years?

Happy Father's Day to the man who has supported every dream, every career change, every late-night idea, and every challenge along the way.

Being a husband, father, provider, coach, chauffeur, problem-solver, and role model is no small job.

Our boys are lucky to have you, and I'm grateful every day for the love, patience, and stability you bring to our family.

Today we're celebrating all the dads, grandfathers, stepdads, and father figures who show up day after day, often without expecting recognition.

Happy Father's Day. ❤️

Twenty-five years ago, I thought I was building a career in hair.

What I didn't realize was that women would spend the next two decades teaching me something much bigger.

Day after day, women would sit in my chair and tell me about their lives.

Not just their hair.

Their stress.

Their exhaustion.

Their weight gain.

Their hormone changes.

Their struggles with sleep.

Their frustrations with feeling like they weren't themselves anymore.

And often, those same women were watching their hair change too.

At first, I focused on what I knew best: the hair itself.

But over time, I started noticing a pattern.

Many of the women struggling with their hair were also struggling with their health.

The more I learned, the more I realized hair was often just one piece of a much larger story.

That realization led me to become a Hair Loss Practitioner and eventually a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner.

Today, Root Revival combines both worlds.

The experience of 25+ years behind the chair and a deeper understanding of what may be happening inside the body.

Because healthy hair doesn't happen in isolation.

And neither does healthy aging.

Thank you to every client who has trusted me with your hair, your stories, and your journey.

You've shaped the work I do today more than you'll ever know.

❤️ Michelle

"I've had thin hair my entire life."

That's what Liz believed when she first came to me.

She wasn't looking for a miracle.

She just assumed she had been dealt a bad hand when it came to hair.

Her hair never seemed to grow.

It broke easily.

The sparse areas around her temples seemed to be getting larger every year.

And perhaps the most frustrating part?

She was already doing so many things right.

She exercised.

She walked.

She practiced yoga.

She tried to eat healthy.

She took supplements.

She bought the thickening shampoos.

Yet nothing seemed to change.

What Liz didn't realize was that her hair might not be the real problem.

As we looked deeper, we discovered several underlying patterns that could be making it difficult for her body to support healthy hair growth.

The result?

Within a few months of starting her restoration plan, she began seeing noticeable improvements in her hair.

Today we're continuing to work on the deeper factors contributing to her hair health, but her story is an important reminder:

Just because something has always been true doesn't mean it has to stay that way forever.

If you've ever found yourself saying:

"Maybe this is just how my hair is."

I want you to know there may be more to the story.

A couple years ago, my family was heading out for a hike.

Normally I would have been the first one ready to go.

Instead, I stayed home.

Not because I didn't want to go.

Because I knew my body couldn't handle it.

My knees hurt.
My hips hurt.
I wasn't sleeping well.
I was gaining weight despite trying to do all the "right" things.

And honestly, I didn't feel like myself anymore.

I remember sitting there thinking:

"This can't be how I'm supposed to feel."

That moment sent me down a path that completely changed the way I look at health.

As I learned more about how the body works, I stopped guessing and started looking deeper.

Within months, I had lost 23 pounds, my joint pain was gone, my energy improved, and I finally felt like I had some control over my health again.

What surprised me most wasn't what I learned about myself.

It was how many women around me were experiencing the exact same thing.

Many had been told it was stress.
Or aging.
Or hormones.
Or that their labs were "normal."

That's a big part of why Root Revival exists today.

Because sometimes the symptoms we're experiencing are not random.

They're clues.

And sometimes those clues start with changes in our hair.

Have you ever had a moment where you realized something needed to change?

One of the most fascinating things I've learned through my training and years of working with women is this:

Your hair is one of the last tissues your body prioritizes.

Think about that for a moment.
If your body is focused on managing stress, balancing blood sugar, recovering from poor sleep, reducing inflammation, or simply keeping up with the demands of daily life...

Growing thick, healthy hair isn't necessarily at the top of the priority list.

And honestly, that makes sense.

Your body is incredibly smart.
Its first job is keeping you alive.

Hair comes later.

That's why I often tell women that hair can be a clue.

Not because your hair is the problem.

Because it may be telling us something about what's happening beneath the surface.

The same body responsible for your energy, sleep, hormones, digestion, mood, metabolism, and recovery is also responsible for growing your hair.

We tend to look at hair as something separate.
But it isn't.

Hair health is body health.

That's why my approach has never been about simply treating the hair.

It's about supporting the whole person.

Because when the body has what it needs, healthy hair often follows.

When you think about your health today, what feels like the biggest challenge: sleep, energy, stress, weight, digestion, or hair? 👇

There sure wasn't any warning about getting older!

• Waking up at 3am for no reason when I use to be able to sleep through a hurricane

• Hair shedding more than my dog

• Walking into a room and forgetting what I even went in there for

• Feeling exhausted but somehow unable to sleep

• Achy joints and feeling ever muscle I got

For a while, I thought all of this was just part of getting older.

What I've learned through my own health journey is that many of these things aren't simply signs of aging.

They're often signs that the body is asking for support.

As women, we get really good at pushing through.

We take care of everyone else.

We keep going even when we're tired.

We tell ourselves we'll slow down later.

But eventually our bodies start whispering for attention.

For some women it's poor sleep.

For others it's weight gain, brain fog, achy joints, digestive issues, or hair thinning.

The biggest lesson I've learned?

Rest isn't something we earn after everything on the to-do list is done.

It's something our bodies require.

So tell me, what feels most relatable to you? 👇

When did feeling exhausted become something we just accepted?

For years, I thought being tired was just part of being a mom and was "normal".

Work hard.
Push through.
Take care of everyone else.
Keep going.

Then one day I realized something.

I wasn't just tired.

I was depleted fighting through exhausion.

There's a big difference.

As women, we often spend decades making withdrawals from our energy account without making enough deposits.

Stress.
Poor sleep.
Busy on-the-go schedules.
Hormonal changes.
Worrying about everyone else's needs before our own.

RELAXATION! What's that?!!

Eventually the body starts sending signals.

For some women it's hair thinning.

For others it's weight gain, waking at 3am, achy joints, brain fog, or simply not feeling like themselves anymore.

One thing I'm learning at 48 is that rest isn't lazy.

Recovery isn't optional.

And taking care of yourself isn't selfish.

It's necessary.

What is one thing your body has been trying to tell you lately?
