Today, we celebrate the birthday of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and recognize the dedicated volunteers who have served our communities since 1939.

Through boating safety education, vessel inspections, public outreach, and support of Coast Guard missions, Auxiliary members help keep our waterways safe while giving generously of their time and talents.

We thank all Coast Guard Auxiliary volunteers, past and present, for their commitment to service and their contributions to the communities they proudly serve.

On Juneteenth, we honor a pivotal moment in American history and celebrate the enduring values of freedom, resilience, and hope.

Observed each year on June 19, Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when enslaved African Americans in Texas learned of their emancipation, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued.
