We have reached the middle of October, and this is a perfect time to remind yourself that seasonal stress is normal. πŸ‚

Whether it is holiday festivities, daily routines, or other life happenings, sometimes these things dredge up complicated emotions. These can include stress, loneliness, sadness, and others.

Not every season has to be magical. You are allowed to go at your own pace. 🧑

Abuse isn't always obvious.

When we hear the word abuse, we may immediately think of physical violence. But abuse can take many forms, including intimidation, humiliation, manipulation, financial control, threats and behaviors designed to make someone feel afraid or powerless.

Some of these behaviors can be easy to dismiss as β€œjust a joke,” β€œjust an argument,” or β€œthat's just how they are.” But healthy relationships should not require you to live in fear, constantly question yourself, or give up your sense of safety and independence.

Knowing the signs can be an important first step toward recognizing unhealthy patterns and seeking support.

If something in this graphic feels familiar, you don't have to navigate it alone.

It's okay to not be okay. πŸ’š

During Mental Health Awareness Week, let's normalize talking about mental health struggles. Let's normalize no shame in seeking support.

Always remember you are not alone, and mental health is as valuable as physical health.

Our founder, Dr. Laura Squires, is attending the Rocky Mountain Division of the Association of Counselor Educators and Supervisors (RMACES)! During her time there, she will be doing a roundtable discussion on teaching about gender bias in the diagnosis class to other counselor educators.

We are proud of Dr. Squires and her work in continuing education for the broader counseling professionals in the nation!

πŸ‚ Hello October

Just as the leaves begin to change, so do the seasons of our lives.

October is a reminder that change is a natural part of life. Sometimes we welcome it. Sometimes it takes a little longer to adjust.

As things shift around us, give yourself permission to adjust at your own pace. You don't have to have everything figured out right away.

New season. New changes. Same you. πŸ‚

What is one change you're adjusting to this season?

September check-in. πŸ‚

Before you rush into another busy month, ask yourself:

What has been taking up most of my energy?
What has been giving me energy?
What do I need more of?
What can I let go of?

You don't have to have all the answers.

Sometimes, simply checking in with yourself is a good place to start.

Recovery doesn't always happen in a straight line.

There may be progress, setbacks, breakthroughs, hard days, and moments when you surprise yourself with how far you've come.

Every step counts.

During National Recovery Month, we recognize the strength it takes to seek help, keep going, and build a life that supports your well-being.

You don't have to do it alone. πŸ’š

Even after the storm, there can be light. 🌈

Life doesn't always move in a straight line. Some seasons are harder than others, and sometimes we can't see what's waiting on the other side.

If you're struggling right now, you don't have to navigate it alone.

Reach out. Talk to someone. Let someone show up for you.

There is hope, even when it's hard to see it. πŸ’›

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 for support.
